The main reason many people criticise you is because you make too many easy, boring, unstable low quality videos every day to make quick and easy money. Most Malaysians work hard for living, and cost is very high for them. You just sell condo in HK, retire young and now show everyone you have great easy life and still make easy money. Looks greedy to them. If you stabilise video, produce less but higher quality videos of other subject not just food, maybe better. Too many food videos on RUclips, because life there is hot and boring with not much else to do.
From the comments here, the majority of the viewers find his videos interesting and entertaining. Just because you think most Malaysians aren’t rich doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be videos showing food. As someone who was born and who lives in KL, I can say the price of this meal is expected and many people I know can definitely afford this Szechuan steamboat, we would even spend more if the family is bigger, not to mention going to even more expensive restaurants around the city. Didn’t you see so many customers in the background? KL actually has lots of business people, expats and professionals and definitely has more middle class and rich people than you think. Don’t use your own economic situation to judge people’s spending habits. If you can’t afford then just watch the videos to see how middle class people can spend in KL. There are too many food videos because KL is famous for having a variety of foods from all of the world for affordable prices, imagine eating the same meal in HK, it would be almost double the price. So, food videos are definitely worth sharing.
steven friend I’m not off topic. You commented on him looking ‘greedy’ just because he enjoyed eating your so called ‘costly’ meals, and I was responding to that. There’s nothing greedy about that. I also said that he should do more food videos to show people that they are able to enjoy quality meal at half the price as compared to HK (that’s not greedy btw) and that many enjoy watching his food videos, which directly responded to your comment also. Oh and this is DJ diary, of course he is going to record what he does daily, including what he eats. In Malaysia food is important, and his videos directly reflects what Malaysians love to do - eat. It’s not like he’s not showing other aspects of his life anyway. This isn’t low quality video, this is video that reflects people’s daily lives like a dairy and this quality is totally acceptable, many expats’ videos are almost the same quality, and nobody has complained that the videos are shaky or low quality except you.
