If your phone falls in, you have maybe 30 seconds before the battery goes thermal. Lithium burns violently. Couple that with several gallons of boiling oil, and you have a truly medieval accident waiting to happen. Personally, I'd get back and warn anyone nearby to do the same.

She was splashed by the boiling oil more time than she could remember, even if she is only a week old in this kitchen.
