The thing I love the most about Anne Reburns technique is her enunciation of the lyrics. I can't always quite make out the lyrics of popular songs. Like in Creedence Clearwater Revival's; "Bad Moon Rising,": What the lyrics are: "There is a bad moon on the rise." What I heard was: "There is a bathroom on the right." LOL
Sometimes unclear enunciation can be part of the song’s appeal though. What would a Michael Jackson song be without “shamone”?

Literally just watched the original top gun for the first time last week and loved the soundtrack
Fifty years ago, David Hafler invented a little box called the Quadapter. It's a simple box that connects two surround speakers to a regular stereo, and creates a pseudo-surround sound. Listening to your recording through one just now was amazing. Your BGV's are beside, behind, and around the listener, and the effect is so good its hard to describe. Played the video three times. Great performance, and fine recording. Keep up the good work, Anne.

Hafler receivers were known for?
@@bruceheitkamp1724 The Carver system is an improvement on the Hafler system, intended to reach a different result. Carver's system works by feeding phase-inverted and slightly-delayed audio from each channel into the other, with the goal of eliminating or reducing the crosstalk between one's ears. In other words, when one listens to a pair of speakers, both speakers are heard by both ears, but the sound from the right speaker is delayed a bit in reaching the left ear (and vice-versa) because it has to diffract around your head. By delaying the signals for a about a millisecond, then inverting the phase and feeding them to the opposite channels, a cancellation of this crosstalk occurs, and the stereo field widens out considerably beyond the speakers. There is no rear soundstage created, but there are no extra speakers needed, either. Hafler's system, on the other hand, was intended as an inexpensive alternative to the quadraphonic systems of the day.
Carver also sold "sonic holography" speakers. These used extra drivers about a foot to the outside of the regular drivers (a distance which provided the necessary delay time) and then these drivers were played at a reduced volume with the positive and negative leads swapped (which provided the phase inversion and the correct mixture). Cables ran between the speakers to carry left sounds to the right speaker and vice-versa.
There is some similarity between the effects of the Hafler and Carver systems, but they achieve these effects by different means; specifically, the Hafler system had no provision for delay (other than speaker placement), and it was not intended to cancel crosstalk, but to actually create a rear soundstage. BTW, the Halfer systems was called the "Hafler Ambience Recovery System."
If one wires up a Quadapter or manually wires up the Hafler system, and places the "surround speakers" immediately next to and outside of the main speakers, the effect is nearly the same as the Carver system.
EDIT: I was mistaken about Carver making Sonic Holography speakers under his name. I was thinking of the Polk SRS and SDA speakers. Old folks are allowed an errant memory once in a while, right? 🙂
