I returned my sp404mk2, theres just so many steps to do for you to sample. Unlike my MPC live 2 which is much more straigt forward. But when it comes to effects and tweaking the samples hands down to the SP404. But it doesnt just fit to my workflow.
This is hands down the best overall music device I’ve ever bought . I purchased thousands of dollars of music equipment just to realize many of them could be singularly replaced by the Roland 404 mk2 . Super huge fan and it’s easy to pick up when it’s so powerful and fun to use , I’m in disagreement with people that it is “hard “ to use just watch videos everything is pretty straightforward once you learn a few tricks
Not to mention they keep expanding the functionality like crazy in ways that are mind blowing , I’d buy it for the current and future updates alone , there is simply no device that replaces this or stands up to what this thing truly is .
3yrs ago I discovered the amazing culture behind the SP404, and then I watched a video of you explaining how convenient it was at a live show, and I was hooked every since!!! Appreciate what you do Sara!🙏🏾✊🏾💚
I picked up the og SP 202 over 20 years ago and loved it. I’ve been on mpc’s and work station keyboards ever since but now that Ive seen how you’ve been using the newer version I want one again. 🙌🏽
Ha, i knew it could do all that BUT that its a full flexed AUDIO INTERFACE is just nuts. Works straight out of the box with ableton and no more need for my old AudioInterface!!!
I'm not a hiphop'er but more into experimenting. I like the look of these A LOT! 😅 The lack of an inbuilt lithium battery does put me off a tad though. I feel like this is something that should have that as standard.
Lol I thought I would get some more info from this than: you can pretty much do everything with it. Maybe I need a course to learn pretty much everything about it.
That’s exactly why I made the course so if you want to get the most out of this device, I got you! This is an intro video, introducing people to the sp and it’s amazing capabilities!
I am a comedian and beat maker so you just inspired me. When I ran an open mic back in the day we had reverb on the amp I used and would yell “JOKE FROM SPACE!” and people would fucking die. I want that reverb wherever I go.
if i was just starting producing, like down to learning the very basics, but could get some audio gear to help, would you recommend the MPC one or the 404mk2? i know one is a full beat machine with a built in daw (i think) and the other is a sampler but i also don't actually know the real difference in practice so curious what you would recommend as the machine to learn production on, or any other machine you think is better! also thank you for putting these videos out!
Hey! I don’t own a MPC One, but what I’ve heard, it’s just like the Maschine MK3, which means it’s a midi controller that requires the software and a computer to use it. The sp 404 is a sampler which you can sample into and create beats with those samples. It’s two separate things! I would get both. start off with the MPC one (or Maschine mk3) then add the sp to your workflow
@@Sarah2ill hey that helps! at some point i thought if i get good I'd have both anyway but just wanted to know which order to buy it in, in that case I'll look into the best alternatives or just get the MPC one, thank you! :) i got a lot to learn, i rap but realized being able to produce or even know how to and work with better producers is def the direction i wanna go in.
@@Sarah2ill I did some research after writing that. It turns out it’s digital as well as every mpc. Unless it’s recording to tape, vinyl, or something like it…it’s digital.
How can people like the new mpcs it’s a super expensive overblown midi controller wannabe daw that would be much better off spent on a powerful laptop and a dedicated groovebox or synth than a crappy imitation of an actual daw with super buggy updates , and convoluted transfers for a alleged “computer daw replacement “ honestly no offense but I think it’s really for the computer illiterate who simply cannot be bothered to learn an actual proper DAW.

Been trying to decide on buying an MPC or that sp-404. This is valuable info to consider. Glad I saw this review.

They have their upsides and downsides. I have an MPC 1000, and I owned it since 2008, but the effects and things unique to the 404 really tempt me.

It’s the best for live performances. I’ll never go back to taking my computer to a gig

Lovin that Simpsons style/JDilla donut pattern on it too 🙌

I’m having so much trouble learning this. I really need to take your course and stop playing lol time to focus!
Come thru fam! I got a easy walk through of everything and it also has homework in some of the lessons to help sharpen your skills!
@@Sarah2ill yea I purchased it just haven’t been through it. I keep procrastinating because I’m in school. Lol
You’re not procrastinating. You have priorities. Be kind to yourself. The sp course isn’t going anywhere
Cool, so it can be used as a live effects pedal/unit of sorts without having to sample first?!
Rolling should hire you because you so the 404 to me
Diggin that dope skin on yours.

I gotta get my Roland sp-555 working again.

@@rappersorbeeMpc one is standalone. It doesn’t need the computer. You can sample directly in and create music all in box. Mk3 is a pure controller.
If I have the money what do you suggest this SPMK2 or MPC Live 2, i want to create a full song and save it
Seem like you could be something like a salesman
Yes! I am! I am selling my product! Is that a problem? Make sure you support this black owned women ran independent business! Thanks Anthony!
Can it sync to something via midi rather than something syncing to it? I hear people say it can’t handle it and goes out of time?
Fam you can see the joy in your eyes as you explain lol I just got mine a few days ago shits lit.
Koala sampler has entered the chat!
Ready Vocals!!!!!!?
It’s all analog too isn’t it?

Wow does all that, and looks like a pink speak and spell.
Why these voices…
This is a weak sales pitch. I can do 100% of what you mentioned on my phone.
