Bail is set for Sonny for 5million dollars but he can't come up with that kind of cash with his assets frozen.
Lily goes to her father, tells him she is in love with Sonny and wants to marry him and have his children but she can't do that if he is in prison so she asks her father to do what he can to help Sonny. Rivera promises Lily he will do what he can to insure that she gets what she wants. (I HAAAAAAAATE HERRRR!)
Brenda visits Sonny in jail and tells him she wants him to be with her and they kiss. The guard pulls them apart and takes Sonny back to his cell.

I have two favorite super couples. Sonny/Brenda a and Sheridan/Luis on Pssns. Both were opposite lives love stories.

Lily was a manipulative sociopath to do this. I don’t know why people liked her during this storyline. I never did. Brenda was clearly Sonny’s true love.
I would have respected Lily more f she would had her father get Sonny out of jail, and seen if Sonny would have fallen for her on his own! Not get her Daddy to blackmail him for her. Lily didn't see that Sonny was trading one prison for another.

She always had the sense of danger about him and accepted him for who he was and all she wanted was the same. Lord Lily is terrible. I'm glad she bailed him out but she knew damn well he didn't love her. She forced him to be the man she wanted him to be. Sonny isn't this guy she created. He is loving and when in love makes a great man but he would have grown to hate lily and crossed over from mild love and respect to hatred of lily. He would have resented her so much for having to give up Brenda. Thankfully he couldn't do it.

Sonny didn't ask for it but Scully did it which meant Sonny whether he wanted to be or not was indebted to Scully for forever. Same with Lily and Rivera. He felt obligated and figured why not plus I get more power to boot...little did he know how miserable it would make him.
