Removing my husband's post surgery sutures 😱

- This video is over a year old and was filmed with the help of my youngest son who was 7 years old at the time.
The mister had two surgeries within a month to remove a benign granular cell tumor in his upper arm. The surgeon sent me home with a sterile suture removal kit so that I could remove the sutures for him at home. I thoroughly enjoyed the task! 15 months later and the area is fully healed. It left a nasty scar, but no sign of the tumor returning! 🙏
This looks slight grown in. In the body you typically don’t go over 10 days. And avg is 7 days . In the facial sutures 5 days.
His looks like it may be wound dehiscence. It depends on patients history/ health and what type of surgery it was to begin with and how doctor placed them.
I have no idea what that means. 😂 but I assure you, we followed Drs recommendations.
How many days did it take to heal the wound completely after removal of stitches,
I am asking this cause my father had gone through inguinal hernia repair, the surgeon has removed the stitches but wound doesn't get healed after 1 months
I don’t remember how long it took. I suppose that every individual heals at their own pace and it probably also depends on the area of the body that was operated on.
I’m going to get an operation on my foot with stitches, and now i feel more confident knowing they’re painless to pull out
The suture removal is easy peasy!!! Hope your surgery goes well! 🙏
@@truthfullytricia934 (alternate account) yeah it went really well! They removed it with a scalpel. It looks like nothing even happened!
@@LubeIski yay!! 😁
Hey, its over a year ,can u show us the result like wht kind of scar is left behind, thank you.!
The surgeon had to go back into it a month later. The biopsy revealed that he didn't get the boarders of the tumor so he had to go back in otherwise the tumor may have grown back. The scar isn't pretty. 😥
How to remove the mark left over
It's there for life, buddy!
Does the scar itch after stitches are removed?
Itchiness while the wound is healing is normal. It doesn’t itch after fully healed.
I just got stitches put in on May 24th, than removed on June 8th, itches more when their in, may be more sore and tender afterwards but not painful I usually sanitize my hands a I rub around the wound also being I lost feeling in my hand from the knife incident I had. But it's good so far, itching mean healing most times.
Your meant to remove each suture at alternate points. Not one after the other. This is why the wound opened up.
Well that makes total sense! Too bad I didn’t know that then. But great news…the incision healed okay. 😃
Can the wound reopen?
Sure can if the sutures are removed too soon.
is this painful?
It didn't hurt for me. Not sure about my husband. 😂

@@SamBlax oh! Hahaha! 🤗
Did it hurt
Not to you
He didn't mention that it hurt. 🙂
After howmany days you are getting removed ? And where is this stitch?on arms? 🤔
I can’t remember how many days it was. But we removed them when the doctor advised. Yes, upper arm.
@@truthfullytricia934 ok thanks for your reply. I was adviced to visit the hospital after 14 days for taking out the stitch. Why you people are doing it your own?
@@truthfullytricia934 and also I have another doubt, how long he waited to take weights after this, do you remember
@@truthfullytricia934 and did he kept his hands elevated or something like that without moving hands till this stitches are taken out? Is it necessary to keep rest the hands after surgery?
You know if you put a little Vaseline on them stitches couple days before you’re gonna take them out they come out a lot easier
Yeah I've been putting it on mine so hopefully they come out easier 😂
it's really enjoying to watch removing these . feeling little pain in body 😅. but i like it tho I don't know why i am like this
Me too!
Me 2
no its the wrong way ur pulling away the stitches which is causing stress to the wound
No shit I was pulling them away! They were tight as hell. If I didn’t pull them away I would’ve never been able to cut them out. The wound is the way it is because that’s how the surgeon sutured it.
Painful to watch lol
I thoroughly enjoyed removing those. I'm sick, I know. 🤣✂️🤷♀️
whoever did these suturing was amateur!
I definitely wasn’t impressed. I can give you his number if you want to give him pointers? 😂
Did it hurt
I didn't feel a thing. 🤣
@@truthfullytricia934 is it normal to bleed a small amount in the suture puncture wounds when taking them out ??
@@zachsiatrevor I am not an expert but I would think so.
