    TIP: if you haven't found slimes for a sticky piston, you use regular pistons with sand. It will still push upwards, and as the sand is affected by gravity, it will also let the villager drop when the lever de-activates.

      for anyone who are still confuse, this build no longer required repeater, because it already been replaced by redstone. destroy 1 block under the leaver and put the redstone and put back the block above the redstone. and it means, you need to change height from 8 to 9 block. the total block also will be a little bit different because it will need restructure on the second floor. if you dont want any headache, i suggest only build first floor and create another trading hall for second floor replacement. seriously, it is a headache as it will look ugly

    To anyone building this in 2024!*
    The lever/repeater/sticky piston/trapdoor is broken; the repeater now affects the trapdoor, instead of the piston.
    I fixed this on my build by simply mining out one block below the lever and adding a redstone dust!
    *EDIT*
    *To get this working on the second floor, I simply built it up one block/layer taller than in the video*
    Hope this helps anyone having trouble!

      Trapping the zombies is easier than placing the villagers. I did it recently and it's a pain😢. Zombies will follow you until you are in their range and not distract by any other mobs like villagers. Villagers will give you 1 emerald trade after getting cured for 4 times.

  • @Bgroonwald
    @Bgroonwald 2 года назад +55

    OKAY! PRO TIP - If you are having trouble with your zombie attacking villagers behind lecterns - go ahead and replace the floor the zombie is on with slabs, which will lower him by 1/2 a block - for some reason this works and clears his pathing to the villager. Villagers will still be trapped and zombie will travel around as normal. Not sure if this is a 1.18 thing but it's working great now.
    **EDIT! The situation I was experiencing was due to me building this for practice in *creative mode* - I could not get the zombie to aggro onto the correct villager because it could not aggro me, the player, as I was not a target in creative mode. Once I turned on survival mode, the zombie would lose aggro on a villager (likely across the room) and aggro onto me, then once it lost aggro on me, it would target the next closest villager, which is very often your intended target. Lowering the zombie helped it not be able to see the far away villagers and aggro the closer villagers better in creative. Apologies, I didn't realize this until I started a new world and built this again but in survival.

    Love love love this tutorial! I have never seen someone use areal camera angles weather from up high, top down or head on, its always been very limited and by god does it make all the difference in the world. If it's not a thing or you havent started a trend -yet- you definitely will!
    The transitions were super smooth, and you slowed the pace down and held the camera still when viewers needed to see more details. Even the sped up footage helps you understand exactly why and where every block is placed. 10/10 video! I can confidently say that I did not have to rewind this video once to understand what's going on, I look forward to future videos from this channel! Even though this was a relatively straightforward build, you showcased the build from top to bottom with deliberate and clean editing, without rushing or leaving anything out. Hey, guys break the block next to the villagers so they can see each other and then place a bottom slab. This way once you trade a lot or heal villagers they actually tell other villagers(as long as they can see each other) and the other villagers reduce their prices. The bottom slab is there so the zombie villagers can't attack the normal villagers.

    1.18.1 java. The lever flaps the trapdoor on the sticky piston, which causes the villager to phase through the piston. With a half slab instead of a trap door, the villager only phases through the half slab when it is up, instead of the entire piston. He stands on top of the slab when it is down. So I had to adapt to the comment for Bedrock users even on Java because the trap door opened and closed whenever activating the piston. So fix was to elevate the 2nd floor so there's now 2 layers of Stone Brick blocks and an additional set of stairs overall extending the entry by 1 block. I also extended the posts up by 1 block as well so instead of the "2 logs 1 note block 1 log" it'd be 3 log, noteblock, 1 log. You also get a choice of block for whatever you want it to be for lowering and bringing back up the villager. This opens up possibility to people not super far into the game to start out with regular pistons and use colored concrete powder, or sand/any block that wants to fall because gravity.
    To summarize, I added a level upstairs and dug down a level for the pistons on the ground. Replace all repeaters with a redstone torch attached to the block of the lever. Below the redstone torch add some redstone dust. Thus keeping the piston active until lever flicked. Add any block desired instead of trap door BUT (I forgot to add) you absolutely NEED to add a trap door on the block when the piston is down. (This will allow the zombie to still attack the villager without letting the villager run around after turning.) Sand/concrete powder/gravel if uses REGULAR pistons. Sticky pistons use any block desired. Also then adjust the pillars on the upper level to fit aesthetic.
    Hope this helps someone! If people message me or enough people need further help I can make a quick video of maybe like 30 seconds with approval of @shulkercraft

    I figured out the problem with them not restocking. Similar to what Chika Libuku said in a previous comment it has to do with the workstation. However it doesn't HAVE to be next to them, it does however work like that too if you want to move the location of the workstation. What is happening is when you zombify a villager & cure them they are disconnecting from their workstation in front of them & reconnecting to a new one. It might not ALWAYS be the one in front of them, even IF another villager is attached to one for whatever reason (Guessing it's a bug).
    Best thing to do is place a fence above every workstation & then destroy them all (the workstations) & replace them one by one. What I did was place the fences on top of each workstation, break all the workstations, then replaced the spot I broke the workstation from with another fence & then broke all the top fences. Seeing the particle effect can be a bit hard through the fences. After that just place each workstation one at a time within the area & look around for which one is attaching to it. Keep breaking it & replacing it till you find the villager it's attaching to. It will be the same villager every-time until you place a 2nd workstation without breaking the 1st one you placed. Once you find the villager, place a fence on top of the bottom fence, break the bottom fence & then put that workstation in front of them & they'll attach to that indefinitely, rinse and repeat. Just make sure you do this AFTER you've turned them all to zombies & cured them or you'll have to keep doing it & that will get annoying xD

    For those on bedrock edition: the entire upstairs needs to be up one more level so that you can take the Redstone repeaters away and use Redstone dust another block below the lever to the sticky piston. The repeater only lifts the trapdoor in bedrock. Also I replaced the chests with just more spruce log because the chests don't work with the slabs on top I put 2 chests under the stairs on each side instead. Last I have to say the more I look at this build the more I find wrong with it in bedrock, the zombies vs villager death rate, not attacking the zombie before you put him in so he focuses the villager, or do we even need the zombies in the back after you've turned everyone. Please do your research before building this in bedrock.

    • @jeremytaylor6519
      @jeremytaylor6519 2 года назад

      I'd like to now add that in bedrock the pistons and Redstone is ultimately useless the levers don't reroll the villagers so you have to manually remove the job block and replace it for job roll. Also I just learned that stairs work better on each side of the front of each pillar in front of the villagers so xp doesn't get trapped. Still refining this build but this video deserves credit for major inspiration.

    The design is amazing, though there is one problem. When you activate the lever and extend the piston, the trapdoor gets powered and for one second it opens, but then it closes again. This causes, at least for what regards players, to kinda glitch into the piston arm and not gen pushed up.
    To fix it, just replace the repeater with a redstone dust in dot mode (right click it after you have placed it).

    Pro tip: place redstone torches on the sides of the blocks with the levers on them instead of using repeaters. This way, you can remove the levers and the stations will still be up. Plus, it's cheaper!

GET UR VILLAGERS OUT OF THEIR SPACE, MAKE A BOX FOR THEM, GIVE THEM A BED AND GIVE THEM THEIR WORKBENCH (NOT IN THEIR AREA, IN THE BOX), LOCK IN ANY TRADE AND THEN PUT THEM BACK INSIDE THEIR SPACE. still a good build for 1.21, but i think its probably worth it to just kill the zombies once everyone is infected due to the nerf. you also dont need a mountain, just add 1 to the length of the sides and a couple on the height.

      You just have to keep resetting one villagers trades (break and replace lectern) at a time until it’s the book you want. Then lock it in and commence the turning/curing process. (Hard mode so it’s 100% turn rate) It can take a while, but every best enchant is possible for 1 emerald and 1 book. I’ve done it multiple times, it’s just a grind. I recommend doing it only in your survival world so you don’t have to repeat the entire process after getting it in creative

    THIS DOESNT WORK ON BEDROCK. Do to the redstone being different, the piston isn't powered by the repeater. Even if I run the redstone underneath I don't have enough room to do that on top as well. If you want to do this on bedrock, zombify and cure the villagers before you put them in.
