the dancing is soooo goofy 😭😭 i watched the trailer on the family tv. i turned it off and ran away as soon as the “dancing” started. i spent the rest of the night in my room 💀
Sharing the same sentiment of feeling underwhelmed despite this pack is trying so hard to bring in the spiciness to the game it desperately needs. Is it fatigue? Is it the fear of repeated disappointments? Overall this whole pack is trying to sell a game pack with $40 price tag.
I argue it makes more sense for it to be a stuff pack. We don't need another world, and if stuff packs can have all this gameplay not tied to a world, I think it should be a stuff pack with a dating app as a basegame update or the main selling point.
I feel that the new romantic chemistry it's now a bit too redundand with the GrT compatibily. I expect the two systems to contraddict each other for who buy both packs, with lots of sims falling in love with sims they dislike. The dating app to me it's a totally unnecessary feature for how the gameplay flow in The Sims. I like tought having the game picking sims from the gallery tought, I hope the devs will finally include a way so that the game can use saved sims instead of having to always rely on random townies, but I fear this will just be a thing tied to this mechanic so that players aren't forced to fall in love with hideous orangeskinnedgreenhaired NPCs. I really like that it seems it will add in the simology the town of residence. Hope they will also add a place to show other family relationships like eventual children of roomrates in that panel, it always felt weird to me that when our sim met someone we can only find out if that they are married or not (and if they aren't married we cannot even learn who their eventual partner is). I had times where I learned my sim was marring a parent just because when the popup for merging the households appeared I saw the children. Not a fun of the official inclusion of polygamy in the game. TBF tought The Sims is not famous for promoting the healties relationship models ever. Overall I wasn't intrested in the first place to a "romance pack" and nor the trailer or the blogpost had me changing my idea. If anything I have found the trailer to be REALLY cringe, as if a bunch of children where tasked to illustrate how the "grow ups" make "love" (funny costumes and silly dances!).
I am underwhelmed too. Nothing about this gives ep. Also the career is a rabbithole one- it says an offscreen career in the blog post or something. I miss the days I used to feel excited/happy about the release of a new pack. Now all I am is scared that its going to break my game with the patch update. Still so grateful to this day that despite being someone who used to buy all the packs immediately I didn't buy for rent as people's saves are still broken from its release.
