  • In January 2006, Ricky Megee, a 35-year-old Australian, embarked on a journey that would soon turn into a harrowing struggle for survival in the unforgiving Australian Outback. Starting a new job in Port Hedland, 3,000 miles from his Brisbane home, Ricky's hopeful drive took a drastic turn on the desolate Buntine Highway. After a fateful encounter with three stranded men, Ricky was drugged, robbed, and left for dead in the scorching desert.
Struggling against dehydration, starvation, and the brutal elements, Ricky's incredible 71-day fight for survival began. With nothing but his wits and sheer determination, he navigated through the harsh desert landscape, battled venomous centipedes, and fought off dangerous dingoes. He survived by drinking his own urine, eating insects, and building makeshift shelters to protect himself from the relentless sun and freezing nights.
When he was finally discovered, his weight had plummeted from 230 pounds to a mere 105 pounds.

Moral of the story: Don't talk to strangers.

His immune system must of been very strong. Usually when you are depleted from lack of food and water your immune system gets weak just like you ? From drinking unfiltered water to eating leaches and other critters he should of been extremely ill.
