  • In this video we will show an engineering application most people interact with on daily bases, the “Steering wheel of a car” and how the rack & pinion gear mechanism enables the steering wheel to control the direction of a vehicle.

    I am greatly inspired, for I am too a mechanical engineering student, this gear profile has given actually arouse the appetite to design something wondrous, and has given me more options and a start point, its insightful

    Keep in mind you may have a different (hydraulic) rack and pinion system in your vehicle. Not all cars are this way.

      Correct, this animation covers the general type of rack and pinion that most cars use. However, as you mentioned there are few other design variations.
