It's mine too, Katelyn. I put it up here as a message that bullying from anyone and for any reason is not acceptable no matter who they are. Even if you have to stand up to your own family, do so. You have the right to be exactly who you are without judgement or recrimination.
Rachel George. This right word Anger fear Angry 😠 😝 your father out you gay Show Justin standing up to his father is my favorite in video about season 1 Episode 7
Justin was my absolute favorite character on QaF! And **not** just because he was hott ASF, either. He was the archetypal precursor to today's young, out, in your face gay man in their teens and 20s! I have seen soooooo many proud, powerful, fearless gay young men in the modern day that remind me of the character that Randy Harrison brought to life as Justin Taylor. And to be honest, it makes **me** proud to see that so many these days choose not to live in fear.
I think it's better that Justin didn't hit back, Justin is better than his father. He doesn't need to use violence to intimidate because he is in the right.
This is why people run away from home because of their parents who don’t understand and there’s a difference between protection for them and just shutting the down and sending them away
It’s weird because they’re supposed to be these traditional/bigoted parents in Pennsylvania but it’s obvious this is Canada, they sound Canadian, that looks like some suburb in Toronto and people in Canada don’t really deal with issues like this
It was filmed in Toronto, and Randy and Sherry are Canadian actors. Things have definitely changed a lot since this show came out, but trust me, we still have our fair share of traditional/bigoted parents in Canada. There’s still TONS of homophobia and lots of queer and trans kids not being accepted at home. I have friends whose parents were like Justin’s dad, or worse. I really appreciated Jennifer’s character arch on this show, it mirrors how my parents acted when my sibling came out. They started not being very accepting but it was more out of ignorance & fear for their kids safety. Like Jennifer they grew to fully accept and celebrate, and this summer my small Canadian hometown had its first pride parade. I never thought I would see it happen there. My sib & I couldn’t go but I told my parents about it & they showed up with pride flags without a second thought.
I don't condone violence but Justin has to understand his Father's POV. He's lied about staying at a Friend's House, he went on Liberty Avenue, he could have gotten raped or killed, he goes on about Brian Kinney this and Brian Kinney that, and Brian doesn't even care he's creating all of this chaos in their lives. If I were Craig I would have said "How do your Parents deal with you being Gay." Brian's homelife is just as bad in terms of growing up. An Alcoholic for a Father, a nasty Beyotch for a Mother that affected him psychologically for the rest of his life.
Season 1 Episode 7 Justin right chance to stand up your father true that see Justin face Yes. It’s not right it’s Okay be your Queer son not alone choice anymore that right family and fiends share gays and Lesbians in town for gay community
Your father’s find out you sons Afraid 😟 You to be Angry will be hurt 😞 right won’t come back home again not still not love 💔 broke your heart leave town soon pack up stuff and clothes for life
I applaud Justin's strength in standing up to his father.
Sometimes, unfortunately, it doesn't end well with LBTGIQ youth.
Definitely one of my favorite parts of the entire series

Justin is strong but I say he should’ve slapped him back after telling his father off. Having the last word and hit.
Nah he didn't need to sink down to his level. He had him beat at "I'll still be your queer son" ^_^

This is heartbreaking. I feel so bad for the dad. I can only imagine the pain of a father seeing his son dishonored as a man in such an ugly way
