I see many children in the rural areas following you. Do they go to school?
The mototaxi rider changed his mind after first accepting to take us to both places. He asked us to pay more if we wanted to continue the trip. So we chose to return than engage with him further.
We have seen many kids going to primary and middle school. But no way to know for sure!
Amikus is a nice place in Musanze for a capuchinno and tasty pizza. From there you have a nice view on the busy main road of Mussnze. Advice to hire Better to hire a taximotor for half a day or the whole day, agree on a price, this will allow you to explore the twin lakes. You will be able to make a boat trip on one of the lakes and have lunch at the campsite/ restaurant on the island in lake ruhundo. On a clear day, it is possible to see all 7 vulcanoes of Rwanda. Thanks Peter! You're no muzungu after living long in Kigali 😉 good idea about the travel plan though - we did visit the lakes but could have been way more comfortable if we had planned the way you said it!
I googled the lakes after watching this. Looks stunning. So bad the bike drivers played foul. You both looked visibly upset haha.
