  • We were thrilled to have Chef Masashi Horiuchi of Entier KL serve an exclusive 8-course dinner involving his famous 'nose-to-tail' dining concept when he took up residency at The Datai Langkawi's penultimate event of The Chef Series - Malaysia on 18 and 19 August 2022. Chef Masashi prepared French cuisine, with precision Japanese techniques, and served with a touch of his personal flair, developed from his two decades of culinary training.⁠

    The dinner itself was held at The Dining Room, our romantic fine dining venue with a magnificent rainforest backdrop and looking out over the bay to Tarutao island. ⁠

    Chef Masashi and his team prepared his signature dishes using herbs and other ingredients from The Garden that he plucked himself. Some of his exquisite creations included highland green asparagus, accompanied by morel mushroom, roasted sweetbreads, Cecina, confit yolk and black truffle. As for the main course, he impressed diners with a roasted French suckling lamb leg that was cooked to succulent perfection. The evening ended with a delicious dessert, Chitose strawberry lime tartare, mint mousse, red berries, and strawberry ice cream, with fruits sourced from specialty growers in the highlands of Malaysia.⁠
