Monsters are real, ghosts are too. They live inside of us, and sometimes they win. (One of my favourite Stephen king quotes, because it always rings true to how monstrous mankind is)
Sh'eenaz isn't a siren, she's a mermaid. And the "sirens" we see in the Witcher 3 were originally named Nixies, though that make little differences. But Sh'eenaz isn't one of them. She is a classical mermaid with just a dolphin-like tail, she doesn't have wings, doesn't fly nor shapeshift, at least not on her own. 3:19 Honestly, i don't think it's a romantical story or that Agloval is truly in love with Sh'eenaz. It's not just that he was incapable to make any concession, he literally wanted to catch Sh'eenaz with a net and lock her in a aquarium for a month like a goldfish ! He seems to treat her like a trophy, not a lover ! 5:55 I don't think you can just randomly develop intelligence like that and suddenly understand the language of a other specie. Which has little to do with intelligence and more with knowledge and learning. 7:16 Sea nymph ? Is that from the polish original version ? Because in mine, the identity of the creature is unknown, we know just it's from the forest. And since Toussaint is very far from the sea... 11:01 1 out of 3 used to served evil witches, i don't think we can make it a generality of the specie. 15:57 Really ? The Aguara we saw in Season of Storm was able to fool a entire crew of human into jumping into a swamp full of leeches and monsters. Not bad for a not very convincing magic. 16:14 Actually, they can't live without the elves specifically or is that different in polish ? In Season of Storm, it was made clear that Aguaras need little elven girls to reproduce, not humans, not Dwarves or Halflings, elves only. 16:27 Wdym ? Aguaras are capables to feel love, compassion, gratefulness and hatred, what is that if not humanity ? You made a good video, going into the big question that Geralt probably often asked himself: what is a monster ?
"He seems to treat her like a trophy, not a lover ! " - Well, that is our modern understanding of lover I suppose. But treating women like trophies or property was and still is a pretty common thing. Let's say there is a bit of grey area, at least in context. "5:55 I don't think you can just randomly develop intelligence like that and suddenly understand the language of a other specie. Which has little to do with intelligence and more with knowledge and learning. " - Language has everything to do with intelligence. Our current understanding of human evolution suggests heavily that there was a feedback-loop between brains growing and more complex language. The more the brains of early humans grew, the more complex their communication, which gave humans huge advantages. That meant more success and easier survival and the ability to support even bigger brains and their energy need. Other forms of our "advanced thinking" are more a by-product of that development. As in regards to monsters in the witcher world, it is possible that evolution can be a lot faster. Herbs and monster parts are used to mutate the witchers after all. So rapid mutation of a monster species isn't out of the question. Though I'm also not fully convinced by that part of the video.
@@dereinzigwahreRahl Is it ? I don't think Sh'eenaz would be too happy to be taken by force when she explicitly said she doesn't want to go and spend a month in a aquarium. If that's love, it seems really weird to me. To develop a language, ok. But to learn it ? Everyone can learn english, even dumb peoples... Can't they ? I suppose it would be hard to study.
Hi man, I just ordered 5 decks for gwent 2.0 for christmas, I hope you are enjoying the holidays. In one of the decks I encountered a character that I never remembered and she (in gwent) has an ability to cruse someone. Can you please tell me who is Theela? I tried doing research, but I never found anything.
Which monster must be added to this list?
I have a doubt, could Geralt from video games defeat a Vilgefortz with his healthy son?

Another great video. I think you covered every human-like creature, but I still think the worst creatures in The Witcher are Monster-Like humans.
