Last week Apple introduced the new 5K Retina iMac which challenged us to take our videos to the next level and deliver them to you guys in full 5K resolution. We've been shooting in 5K ever since we got out Red Epic Camera but always finished all our work in 4K as we saw no real need to have content available in a higher resolution. Now that more people are going to have 5K displays and technology at their finger tips with not only the new iMac, but also Dell's new 5K display. We decided it was time to challenge ourselves and our technology and give you a chance to experience the world in 5K. This hasn't been easy as we are now just getting our 4K workflow mastered, but our motto has always been to "Get comfortable with being uncomfortable."

+Michał K 5120x2880 is considered 5K Video. That is the higest setting on This RUclips post. This was shot on Red Epic M642 a 5K lossless video camera. I'm not sure what you are talking about.

Nice.... People always ask whats my favorite Pet/Animal , I tell them, "I love all animals & enjoy seeing them in thier natural habitat, I used to go to the S. F. Zoo as a kid & did not understand why they looked so sad... When I took my kids there they wanted to set all of the animals free!!!!! We have 2 rescuse dogs that were abandoned as puppies They are 16 yrs & 10 yrs old. Feed them well, love them more. My dogs never been in a Cage or kennel. 💙💙

I can confirm 5k 2880p is available on this video, but you cannot watch it. Once I click 5k it glitches out. I then try 4k and my screen is green. 1440p is working as usual. Use Safari for the best video performance.
It's actually 5120x2700. But yes, it doesn't work.
yusufandyasser Green means your GPU has a buffer overflow/gave up trying to render it

Watching this in 5k on a 4k screen with a 1gb fiber connection. It is the most gorgeous video, the detail is breathe taking.
My processor said "Oh fuck no."
Any video that is above 3840x2160 (when uploaded) only shows up as a green screen for me. I'm thinking it's either RUclips or Nvidia messing it up. The quality is set as 2160p, but I can only see this video when it's set to 1440p or less.
_EDIT: It now works as of 2015-10-19. Flash Player, Firefox and NVidia drivers have all had several upgrades since then. Glad it works now! Awesome quality video._

I'm not sure either. I really wish I could watch it. I'm having issues with other 4k videos juddering too.
I've tried numerous browsers, disabled/re-enabled hardware acceleration in Flash plugin as well as Firefox, checked CPU (it runs at about 8-12%), downloaded the video and run it in several players, etc. It runs perfect with no dropped frames at 3840x2160@30p in VLC player and Windows Media Player. The only thing I can think of is that Flash player isn't fully optimised for high resolution video yet, or perhaps my hardware has always had issues that have not shown themselves until now.
Anyways, you have taken some pretty awesome video. I can't believe the quality! It's the best I've seen so far. :) Thanks for sharing them all.

Hi. I'm using Windows 7 (64bit) and Firefox (latest version as of today). I have an Asus NVidia GTX780 graphics card and am running it via HDMI to a Samsung UE40HU6900 TV (3840x2160).
I'll try it in different browsers now. I hadn't installed any others to try it, to be honest. It could be that.
***** It works, thanks! It works in Chrome but still shows green in Firefox. Perhaps they need to update something in it.

Ismel Otano 8K makes it stumble a bit
... the only way to actually watch this in 5k is with a 5k monitor which I don't think are many on the market... lol besides loading the video would only depend on your internet, If your computer gpu was actually generating and rendering the content then that would be a different story. But still even an overclocked 1070 or 980ti could render 5k.
Sam Toney somebody doesn't understand rendering, you don't a 5k monitor to watch 5k, yes you need one to actually get 5k, but the monitor has no difference if you can push 5k, also there are 5k monitors available the imac 5k, and a few dell monitors
NonsensicalVids THink off it like refresh rates, if you have a 60hz refresh rate monitor then you can't get over 60fps even if game says it is running at 120fps. You're limited to what your display can put out, if your screen is 1080p then you're not actually watching a video in uhd, the picture is being scaled down.

koen trouwborst On a chromebook it can run 4k fine but it cuts every now and then. 5k doesn't work at all. 1440p HD can run at 60fps with no problem.
koen trouwborst only if your pc sucks. I had I5-3350P. I had trouble running video at 60fps and 4K resolution. Now i've upgraded to I7-4770 no problems and not a bit slowdown at the highest youtube 5K setting. Time for a new CPU dear

Something weird streaming this video, pretty cpu intensive, while gpu use is around 12%. Never seen this before, normally is otherwise.

Same here. Actually many 4k videos on youtube try to hose my cpu. My radeon gpu is doing no work at all.

I was able to view this video in other means (downloaded video and audio separately and combined them), It was awesome! Thank you guys!
