Amazing resources. Just sent it to Thomas Greco who has taught alt economics world wide for a long time. His blog is Beyond Money and he is on Medium. He was glad to learn of these and you Laura. Many thanks. Btw I grew up in N. CA in the days startups were rampant and they mostly sold out. No more!!! Serve the community.
Very inspiring and love the resources. One of my doctorates in Transformative Learning and Change focused on cooperative inquiry. Many thanks Laura and all. Time for change that serves the greater good.
The current funding model was outlined but the alternative wasn't, at least not for startups. The example given was hacker news (a very well established business) and other not for profit projects. But the entire value/point of venture capital is that (as described in this video) they make lots of bets on many startups, most of which fail, and then they get all their profits from the winners. How does this model/platform solve that problem?
Sorry, no such thing as cooperative or collaborative. Someone’s ALWAYS going to want all the control, all the power. There are egos, sexism, racial bias, bullying, harassment and everything else that comes along with humans working together, including slackers who don’t do the work. So give a glowing corporate or company statement with all the right words, everyone knows it’s bullish¡t.
What a great project and episode!
Thank you for all that you do to support the solidarity economy and cooperative movement!
16:08 correction: Hacker News (via Paul Graham) is not the same as the company he referred to, The Hacker News.
This talks about the idealism of cooperatives, but what's the tangible benefits? Money? Connection? Long-Term Growth? Sustainability?
I’m helping start several co-ops right now so I’m very curious what you have to say. Definitely looking forward to the video :)

This is exactly what I always wanted.
Laura Flanders has given the best coverage out there to cooperative economics.

Thank you for this video! I found Open collective on the net while searching for ways to finance and manage a collective. Congrats for this project!
Excellent!! And best wishes to you and your new collective!
The only way to cement democracy in a government is worker ownership of their business places.
Loved it. Subscribed!
I havent hear it yet (minute 20), but blockchain is great technology to enable this
This very similar to how musical bands that are corporate recording bands have worked for decades.
Good stuff.
Great stuff all around! Thanks Laura!
Thanks for watching!

Amul is also a good example ...

I was totally stoked to see two open-source projects that I love, Anki and Logseq, on the platform.
Excellent!! I found this video from a #voltairemelkor meme.
The way it.s going,
Why would you need policy to be creative? That’s and over reliance on government.
Energy Definition is World Standards Cooperation
Very excited to see these alternatives! Can you cover more on how coops/mutual aid work to combat poverty/homelessness? Thanks!

It will possibly create massive amounts of pure bliss.
