  • An LG Tracfone exploded while charging, flew across the room and caused burns to the fingers and leg of this cute little girl. Our patient was the sweetest and most confident little girl who was also adamant about naming her video.

    *Docs doing a great job taking history so mom can file a lawsuit. Technology that explodes could’ve blinded this young lady, or worse.*

      Well that is almost impossible to prevent because lithium batteries tend to randomly burn and explode

    Such a cute girl. She does real good. Burns can hurt so much. That explosion must have scared her so bad.

    This doctor, or patient, was very intelligent to start documenting this situation in real-time. If the victims choose to sue the manufacturer of the phone, the jury would react very strongly to this recording of the situation unfolding. Very smart idea to document this.

    Remember, if you see any of your devices swelling up or batteries looking like pillows, please be careful cause that means the batteries are ready to explode like what happened to this young lady. Lithium batteries can be faulty and dangerous.

    People take lithium ion batteries for granted nowadays, but they can be quite dangerous, especially if they are damaged or overheated.

    Would there be concern of inhaling/absorbing some type of hazardous material emanating after the phone explodes?

    • @lmellick
      @lmellick  4 года назад +5

      Good question. Definitely, when plastic burns there are risks of toxic chemical release such as dioxins and cyanide.

      Don't tell Halorex that Iphones use Lithium too and are more likely to have these issues since their charges are overpriced and result in a big black market for chargers with no quality control nor proper parts.

    the leg could have acid from the battery in it along with debris. the battery exploded and is full of acid. I would have made sure to debride that and flush it much more than I observed in that video.

      As an ER doctor, or any doctor I wonder why he wouldn't want to wear PPE?

      She's not suspected as having COVID-19. She was burned. They're wearing masks, what more do they need? If they suspected she had COVID-19, THEN they'd gown up. Since it was never addressed in the video, maybe she was recently tested and negative

      Really? I recommend you do a quick google search as there are many reports of iPhones bursting in flames. If it has a LIPO battery than it has a chance of bursting in flames no matter who makes it.

      Taylor's Every Day Life agree if it has a battery it can explode! When Lithium batteries go they go in a spectacular fashion! Cell phones don’t get covered nearly as often as say Vape devices.
