- Pictures from London (King's Road, Carnaby...) at the end of the 60's.
The frivolity of youth. What a happy carefree period ...
Imagine that the young people on this video are now 70 years old or older... So enjoy life!
Al Stewart explained us in Paradiso (Amsterdam) the story of this song: When he was opening shows for the Rolling Stones tour, Brian Jones had a girlfriend called Gina.
And everybody backstage was in love with Gina except one man : Brian Jones !
I'm not the ownner of the rights.
Images of young friends in the streets come from Mackenzie Rough's channel.
@mackenzierough
I thank him for allowing me to use them.
Wonderful video. TY.
Al Stewart - top 10 song writer of all time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Used to catch both the 19 and 49 buses at times when I lived South of the River in the late sixties and early seventies. Both went along King's Road....
I absolutely love what I call "Al's London songs" . They are so evocative of 60's and 70's London and it takes me back to when I was young. He should release a compilation album of them.
What a lovely period. But I was born to late (and in the wrong country !).
@@StuartBigCountry I was lucky - moved to London aged 17 in 1966. Lived there nearly 20 years
@@yalova84 I can't imagine the girl on the video is now around 70 years old...
@@StuartBigCountry I can because I am :(
no. new stuff all the way. we gotta promise we won't rely on free uploads/listening
would Pretty Yellow Hair fall into that category ?
Such a good song, been listening to this since the album "A Beach Full of Shells" was released in 2005. A lifelong Al fan!
MAN I ENJOYED THAT ! what is that anyway ? awesome how you included the sound ! GREAT JOB ! 👍🙂
Thanks.
It's just a mix of this song and pictures from the swinging london.
I still can't imagine all the young people there being over 70 now...
@@StuartBigCountry ikr ? but I was referring to how you included the atmospheric sound from these "home" movies. it adds a sound of authenticity! great video
@@hobbygamer6220 I understood! I have a certain melancholy about not having lived that time in this place. I was born to late.
