    One issue you forgot to mention is how google rolls over backwards for any government who want to access your data.. This can be a huge issue if it leads to you getting arrested over some shady searches you did out of curiosity, or if you live in a country with a very authorotarian government they can figure out that you disagree with them politically and have you arrested.. So they sell access to an extremely efficient way of advertising. It gained it's efficiency through data collection, analysis, and being heavily guarded.
    Do they sell summaries? As valuable as someone's specific identifying data is, things like "people in this area tend to ____" has a massive amount of value as well.
    What they sell in a sentence is basically "we will show your add to people who tend to ____".
    From the consumer side, I PREFER targeted ads over blanket ads. If it's an ad I'm forced to sit through, it might as well be something likely to interest me, or have a comedic angle aimed at my age group, and maybe even for something I already like, or want. Of course the generic blanket ads get through more than some smaller more interesting ones. I like to see it as a way for smaller, local businesses to get a chance with a more likely customer base for less money than having to pay for a broader viewership via an older method.

    You look a lot like doing advertising for Google. A few questions, if you don't mind:
    Do you work for Google?
    How does Google make money out of Google pay, if not selling my personal information? Banks and credit card companies do nothing for free, therefore they must receive something in return to let a middle man (Google) in their business.

    • @6MonthsLater
      @6MonthsLater  4 года назад +6

      We do a lot of Google videos, that's true. We're not paid by Google to do them though. Google did supply us pixel devices for the videos we did on them, but for all other videos we purchased the products.
      For Google Pay, it appears Google is tracking transaction data. So it can see what you buy, from which merchant, at which location and when you bought it. Which is no different than what info the credit card companies already have on their users. You read more about Google Pay here: payments.google.com/payments/apis-secure/get_legal_document?ldo=0&ldt=privacynotice&ldl=en-GB

    • @ionutcristian3181

      Well, that middle "man" is acting as a bridge first of all. Would you prefer 10 different apps instead of one ? Or would you prefer to do it the old way with the paper bill and cash ? Yes, google collects data about you, about your behavior, what you like, what you need, so the next time you need it, it's already prepared for you to grab it.

    • @hesleyt
      @hesleyt 2 года назад

      @@ionutcristian3181 So, the answer to my question is yes, you work for Google.
      In addition, I don't want Google collecting and selling my personal info to any company that can use that information to scam me. I don't need Google to get anything "prepared" for me to grab. I'd rather deal with the companies that I choose, even if I had to deal with 10 different apps.
      In addition, you didn't answer how Google make money out of Google pay. Now, as you conveniently skipped the question, I'm sure it is selling customer's data.

    • @ionutcristian3181
      @ionutcristian3181 2 года назад

      @@hesleyt it took me 10 seconds to find that out. The model is quite simple actually. Google obtains commission for every payment made through Google pay. So the question is, why would the banks accept loosing money for every payment someone makes ? Simplicity. It reduces the process that you, the seller, and the bank undergo while making a purchase. Data, and informations such as personal information that are shared with a third-party (the bank, and the seller) are: whether you have a google pay account (the seller, and if you're not visiting some shady websites, i believe that you would be alright), card information (the bank).
      One more thing that I would like to add. If you're that dumb to be scammed, you should stay off internet. Stuff like this happened years ago, when people were uneducated, and internet scams such as "you won 1 million $, send us 10k and the money are yours", or "I'm a prince from Nigeria but I'm captured, send me money". Instead of revolting that Google, or anyone else would think that you're such an important person that they can barely wait to sell or buy the super secret data showing the ultimate rice recipe for rice, you should start learning more about the benefits of using Google, on how it can use the information of the subject you're most interested in to point you to what you actually need, on how using the internet is so much easier, on how they spend so much time to improve your productivity by decreasing the time you spend searching, or buying, or watching the thing you need. It's like having a calculator while in class at math, and you don't know shit.
      After all that ranting, here's a solution to your "problem". Use kiwi browser. It's a chrome like app, that has compatibility for extensions exactly like chrome on pc. It isn't traced, and won't let others know about your soup recipe.

    • @hesleyt
      @hesleyt 2 года назад

      @@ionutcristian3181 I'm not that dumb as you supposed; however, with the info Google possess on me, if Google sells it to some scammers, they don't even need to contact me to scam myself. Google has information enough for them to buy stuff, transfer money, etc without my interference. That is what I worry about. Furthermore, I don't want every other company knowing what I do, where I go or how I spend my money while I don't have business with them.
