Aw Marie thank you so much that means so much to me ♥️♥️
That is beautifully said.
Something I did when I had my garden house: I took two large pots and filled them with soil, then added the largest tomato cages I could find. I planted Sweet Peas, and as they grew, I twisted them around the cages...in no time, not only did I have outstanding topiaries, and they were extremely fragrant, but every time I went in and out so did the fragrance. As long as bouquets are cut for inside, it continues to produce more and more blooms.
That sounds great Donna 😍😍
That is an awesome idea! I’m totally going to try that!
@@megantopczewski you'll be amazed at how quickly it covers the biggest tomato cage. Of course the fragrance is divine.
I’m going to try this!
I love how happy and excited you get about doing your projects. You definitely enjoy life! 🥰
Always excited 😍😍 thanks Diane xx
This is exactly what I needed to bright my mood in the snowy weather in Iceland ❤
Aww yayy thanks for stopping by Maria ♥️♥️ snowy Iceland sounds beautiful
@@DaintyDiaries it can be very beautiful. Especially in starry night when the norhern lights dance around the sky. To survive the stormy days for “summer souls” it is essential to have growing lights to jumpstart the sowing since our growing season doesnt start before june. I have already sown some tomatoes seeds and sweet peas to have indors.
@@Maria-vu9gz Aw I LOVE that yo use grow lights x
Happy Spring fellow gardener! I love your enthusiasm. I totally agree with you. I get so much joy sharing plants. If the people in this world would spend their extra time gardening just think how much happier and kind we'd be to one another.
Yes, I always say that to my friend xxx
Love sweet peas. My grandmother always grew sweet peas on trellises she had at each end of her clothes lines. So lovely. Wonderful childhood memory. My grandparents had an amazing backyard garden, amazing wisteria so large my grandfather pruned out a mini room underneath he had nestled a lovely garden bench. Fun hideaway on a hot summers day.
That sound very lovely🏡
Woohoo I am so happy to have the garden videos back - makes me feel inspired and ready for spring- thank you ❤
I’ll be interested to see how yours germinate. Laura (Garden Answer) soaks her seeds about 8-10 hours in water before she plants to speed up germination. Can’t wait for the gardening season to begin.💚
If I may, get yourself night scented flowers, so easy to grow from a seed and the smell is unbelievable, plus so good for butterflys and moths. ❤
I feel your need to make things grow! Thanks for inviting us along.🌺🌹🌼🌻
So excited to see your garden burst into flower inn Spring! Loving the signs of new life starting to show. 💜
Absolutely Kerri ♥️ so excited 😍😍
What a lovely surprise your vlog was tonight. Great to be back in the garden with you and in my own 💖
Spring garden time is around the corner now 😍😍
Bonus! I was enjoying the odd job video and went to click on an old/new to me gardening video and I saw this! THANK YOU for doubling up. I know how much work filming is so we all appreciate you taking the time. Ps Sweet Peas were my Gran's favourite so I plant some in her memory and love picking them for displaying in your recycled glass jars xx
That’s so kind of you Dawn thanks so much ♥️♥️ hope you enjoyed xxx
It's lovely to see all the new growth in your garden, you're making me want to see Spring!
Hellebores are one of my favorites because they give my winter garden a tiny bit of color. And they're so easy!
Hi Catherine.. I’ve been binge watching your videos over this last lot of days. You are just class!! I LOVED your solo walk travel in Camino… that was unreal! You’re an inspiration 🤎 Your garden videos are lovely! It’s the sweetest space 🪴🌾👒 I’m gonna have a cuppa with my mum Cus she loves gardening, and show her a few of your videos🌻
You are a hoot too… sending you love my RUclips friend from Victoria in Belfast xO Ps - your name for your channel is the cutest 😍
Thanks so much Victoria that’s so sweet 😍😍hope you enjoy watching with you mum!! Thanks for all the support ❤️❤️
Always fun watching you garden gives me inspiration to get going on my yard...
Thank you for sharing your plans in the garden world Catherine wonderful so hot here in Port Macquarie we did have a mini cyclone come through here a couple of weeks ago and now it’s in the 100,s 😢 but there is hope in the horizon can’t wait to see your seedlings spring up 🙌Karen from Oz 🇦🇺💌🐨🦘👒🧤
The Cosmos are both gorgeous, the first one though, so beautiful!!!
Garden videos and the chats are back...aaaah Catherine your videos fill me with joy 😊 🌱💖
So lovely to see some green grass! We've just gotten a nice snowfall here, about 6 inches, so spring is a bit off for me & my little garden. Thanks so much for taking us to the walled garden. Magical!!
Catherine, you’re beautiful clever inspiring love the video as always💐
It must be so much a milder climate where you live. But we had the same idea. I bought seeds too, three kinds of Lathyrus, for a whole 4 months of little posies in my house. Yay! Tree Dahlia's never heard of them? On the go to find them. I will sow the seeds later, we have frost till late May. Ps, I bought 5 tree dahlia or Dahlia imperalis, so excited.
Hi Catherine, I’m so happy that you’re doing this video on sweet peas. I’ve always loved the soft colours of this plant but have bad luck with them and they always die so I finally gave up on them, so I’m hoping with this video I can finally get some good tippers and have some live sweet pea plants. Also I always love when you take us along on your trip adventures to different places in Ireland and other countries. I just looked up Dahlia Imperialis and what a beautiful tree. Of course there’s a video on RUclips that popped up on how to care for it during winter by Monty which is worth looking at ❤.
You are a sweet pea, too 🥰😍🤷♀️😊
Yay!!! Sunday gardening video, sooo exciting 🤗 💗💗💗🪻🌷🌻
Yay spring is sticking its nose up!! Collect loo rolls and cut them in half two pots for one 😀 start lots of seeds off in loo rolls you won’t damage the roots as you won’t touch them… I always have sweet peas off two of my neighbours as they grow too many but I’m going to try to grow more veg this year… fingers crossed x
That was fun to watch! I am looking forward to seeing how your seeds grow over next month and excited for you. I am doing many similar projects around my homestead. I also got a fig tree, three varieties of muscadine, and four varieties of blueberries, plus two climbing rambler antique roses that I'm so excited to add to my homestead this year. For now I have them all in pots until I prepare their new areas on my land. I'm so glad you are doing garden videos again! Oh and I love your book that I acquired recently. I am contemplating getting some for Christmas gifts to give this year.
I love to have a walk around the garden center , a nursery. not many open this time of year. It’s inspiring !
Do yours close for Winter? most of ours stay open but mostly the ones with a homeware/Christmas section x
Hello Catherine what a great idea with the milk cartons I'm going to give that a try let you know how it goes you are a ray of sunshine
Absolutely 😍 hope you enjoy xx
Hi Catherine, the pumpkins will be a 2fer as decoration and you can puree and freeze the pumpkin to do pumpkin pies....yummy. I thought you were going to grow vegetable sweet peas lol.... I learned something today about flowers known as sweet peas.😁😁
So exciting to start a new garden saison with you. I have a large stack of seed packs in my basement. I´m going start them next month. My cosmos always self seed them and I never know what colours I get. They mix and match themselves. That is so cool. Hugs from Germany ♥
What a nice surprise 😍😍😍
Wait with the Cosmos Catherine .Wait till end of March .I learnt by experience that earlier sowings go leggy very quickly but sowing early April produces healthy stocky plants that can be sown straight in the greenhouse 🙂
Did you pinch yours out? I did that last year and it stopped them going leggy x
@@DaintyDiaries I did Catherine and buried them slightly deeper when potting on but I sowed another tray on the 1st of April and couldn't believe the difference ! They far outstripped my earlier plantings and were much healthier .They even flowered better and longer .So now I wait ☺️
oh thanks for the milk carton idea!!
While I’m not doing sweet peas, I did order some dahlia tubers and seeds for the first time ever thanks to all the great ones I see in your garden!! So we are in the same ocean just different boats!!! 😂
Hello.
I have never done it but apparently you can stake pumpkins on a strong trellis..who knew. I googled it and it is a thing. Love sweet peas...love them growing wild in the summer along the roadside..so lovely. We hit 5 C today in Southern Ontario. Snow all but disappeared till next round comes thru :)
Hi Catherine, everything I started in Autumn out in the unheated greenhouse froze in the bad weather, even the Broad Beans so I'm glad I didnt start my Sweet Peas off then. I put mine in indoors last week and they are already up. I'll wait until its a bit warmer and then grow them on in the greenhouse. I love that we're back to a bit of gardening !! Its so exciting.
Aw, I am so so sorry to hear that, I think I may have lost a few dahlias in that frost too x
You are such a big inspiration and you give a lot of joy . This weekend, we worked two long days, and the garden looks a lot better than last week. The garden season has started and we replaced a wooden terras for old bricks and we have cut the plants back in the borders and put some bulbs and coloured plants in pots. En cleaned everything that was green from alg. I feel every muscle but am very proud and the birds are too, they are singing their beautiful song..... 🥰
I’m excited to see your sweet peas grow 😊 the milk cartons are a great idea as well , you inspire me to get back out in my garden and see what’s happening out there x
Good morning I am so excited my first daffodill is out across from my kitchen window ..also my lilac crocuses are gorgeous Have a great day Ca
Catherine ,muy bonitos tus videos
Gracias ❤️ desde Albayzin de Granada España
Hi Catherine, loving this video on sweetpeas, one of my favorite flowers! Where I live in Adelaide, South Australia its recommended to plant out our sweet pea seeds directly into the ground on St Patricks day! We then enjoy beautful blooms when early spring arrives. So sweetpeas have an Irish connection down here! Love all your videos, just the best. Thank you!
I LOVE that x
cosmos are my favourite flowers!
♥️ Love watching your video's, you can let the sweet peas go to seed later on and save the seed pods for next year x keep seeds in a paper bag x
I never know when to start or plant, but sweet peas sound good.
I love spreading mulch! Your space looks great. Love the milk carton idea!! Your enthusiasm for your garden is getting me excited to start some seeds inside too! Thank you!!
Make sure you remove the lid for ventilation and it should work great. I also use water bottles for starting seeds and cuttings. It’s so nice to reuse what we can.
I just ordered some sweet pea seeds to keep indoors. My mom is 100% Irish and lives in Florida near me. She used to call me sweet pea when I was little. I can’t wait to bring her some flowers. Hopefully.
Here are sweet peas, on tip-toe for a flight:
With wings of gentle flush o’er delicate white,
And taper fingers catching at all things,
To bind them all about with tiny rings.
-John Keats (1795-1821), excerpt from “I Stood Tip-Toe Upon a Little Hill”
That’s beautiful Monica thank you for sharing ♥️ hope you can bring some gorgeous sweet peas ti your mum!
I’ve used the milk or water jugs too. I love them. I’ve also used individual water bottles when I’m only doing a few plants. I love your sweet peas this year. By now (July) your garden is absolutely gorgeous. I’m glad you did the sweet peas. I’ve never planted them. I’ll be ready next year for them.
You and i are so on the same page. I have planted every plant i had over wintered today to make room for seed starting. Here in south west France it is frosty in the mornings but dry and sunny. Thank you for the seed information, i haven't got sweet pea's . They look very pretty. Fingers crossed you get them all sprouting in no time. Xx
I'm gonna sow with you! Almost all of my bulbs are coming up & I'm SO excited Catherine! Your yard is going to be beautiful this summer!! Great job with the mulching!
Aw yay! So happy your going to sew along x
I'm so glad you bought those bulbs when you panned over them I thought how gorgeous they were x
Love this video! Spring is on the way. You got a new broom: ). I want to try to start seeds in milk jugs also. I've seen people put them outside to save space inside, I want to try that. Thank you for sharing with us!! Spring!!!
In Australia we plant sweet peas on St Patrick’s day .
Love this, will it be Autumn for you?
So jealous! My garden still looks dead and it's a bit early to start seeds in these parts, but it's great to see that there is green somewhere out there!
Aww that brings childhood memories. My Granny had a trellis with sweet peas! They were always my favs! So beautiful and smell so good! The bees will be so happy!
What a lovely winter garden day. . Reminding us about magic 💕
Thank you 🤠
It's mild here too so I have had a weekend of gardening.
It's lovely to see new growth a sign that spring is on the way at last .
Love watching you garden it always inspires me to do mine. Xx
Enjoy your weekend of gardening x
I love watching your garden videos. They are always so happy!
good bit of work done there! ❤
You got me so motivated Catherine thank you
I was just mesmerized by all the flowers all over Ireland when I was there last summer. Even prettier than Scotland!
Great idea to use the milk bottles xx
Thank you! 😊
I love sweet peas, great idea using milk carton’s. Have a lovely week Catherine 😊
When you've 2 sets of true leaves on the sweet peas, pinch off the growing tip, or they fizzle.
Nice going!! Looking good. 🌱🌼🌷🌱🌼🌷💕
Perfect timing as made plans with mum yesterday to go to our local garden centre on Tuesday ☺️
Sounds like the ideal day Michelle 😍😍 enjoy xx
That was a lovely end to the weekend. I have the urge to go to the garden centre now...
Oooh do it Karin!! Can’t beat some garden centre time 😍😍
I love sweet peas and will be growing a whole load this year. Love the new garden broom 👍🏻
I’m getting so excited to see your garden come to life.
Just re watching this video and just saw the little black bird jumping on the wall . Did you see it x so cute
Its summer here in Australia and the sweet peas seedlings where out in the garden centre so I just planted them as well. I can see how excited you are for spring time! Loved the outing to the walled garden.
Yaayy more sweet peas 😍😍
I love sweet peas,! I used to grow a whole fence line of them by just sticking a pencil in the ground to make holes, and would drop the pea in, in Autum n in California. A warmer zone. Since moving to the midwest Illinois, I can't seem to get them going. Funny I can grow regular peas.
When using the milk and juice containers, I have always taped the opening, and always take off the cap, then put outside to do their thing.
Lovely mulch! Doesn't it just look ready for Spring?!
I feel the same way! I can't wait to start putting in some seeds and filling up the window sill!
Eeeek so exciting 😍😍
Enjoyed.
I'm desperate for colour in my garden and this year I want to try growing from seed as we've taken down the kids' trampoline so I now have more room for pots! Love your gardening videos as your garden is so pretty.
Loving the garden videos! I've missed them!
It's definitely great to think about planting again 🌞
Delighted to hear that Denise ♥️😍 love sharing the inspo xx
Thank you for your inspiration
As always lovely cheery video thanx for sharing
So nice of you x
I live in cold Alberta Canada. I plant sweet peas in March directly in to the ground. They get snow on them all spring but are beautiful all summer. Also I love your videos.
Thank you! I’m going to give it a go! We still have 2 feet of snow!!
That is a LOT of snow xxxx
Hey Girl your doing fantastic and so inspirational ✨️ Go you, live love love your vidios and the linger the better. ❤️🙏
Aw Aileen thanks so much ♥️♥️
It is exciting that spring is almost here I can hardly wait❣️
Just ordered some sweet peas so will plant in toilet rolls when they turn up.
Have been saving for months 😃
Aw yay, let me know how you get one, LOVE the smell of them x
Look at you,you got a new garden broom😊😍 Love that spring is starting to show herself in your garden
It’s getting there 😍😍 thanks for watching Christine xx

Such a good idea with the milk cartons, will be giving this a go xx
You got me in the garden feels!🥰 Been raining and soggy here, but I can start some seeds! Enjoy your week!😘
Love the lemonade cosmos. Haven't seen them before. Look forward to seeing them bloom🤞
😊
Me too!! Roll on spring time 😍😍
It looks beautiful already with the fresh mulch. Here’s to Spring!🌺
Those cupcake ones are cute. Garden is taking a hit with the heat here (Australia) was 36 today and everything's getting roasted. Cant wait for the season to change.
Oh wow that is some heat!! Not long now until it cools off hopefully! Thanks for stopping by ♥️
I've always wanted to grow sweet peas but never got round to it. But now....I have the inspiration to grow along with yours 😁👍 plus a pumpkin! 😁
Yaayy delighted to hear that 😍 happy growing xx
Great video looking forward to see the seeds grow. The mulch looks gorgeous. New signs of life coming up. Thank you so very much for sharing this with us.🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
A great sight to see 😍 thanks for watching Maureen xx
Sweet peas are going on my list, but we can have frost until the end of May so I will have to wait a bit
I love how there is a garden center in winter in your area (even with bees!). So nice to see! All we have here is snow and frost, lol. No gardens or flowers here in NY during the winter (or even spring)!
I believe Ireland is equivalent to a zone 9 here in the US. A lot warmer than you are in NY and me in CO! I’m anxiously awaiting our centers opening up soon!
@@mwillis7791 That's great about Ireland. Thanks for the info! Yes, I am impatiently awaiting the warmer weather! I am in Zone 5. It likely won't be warm here until June :(
Lovely cheery video as always with lots of practical tips. Loving your shacket - really suits you. Hope you feeling better now ❤
Thanks for taking us to the garden
I love watching your videos ! They inspire me!!!
