HLOM Java with Joe E.: Ryan Duffy, “Agrarian Opposition to the Holland Land Company”

As part of our Java with Joe E presentation series, Museum Director Ryan Duffy presented “Agrarian Opposition to the Holland Land Company.” The presentation details the pushback that the Land Company received from the local populace in its administration and development of Western New York. The continued hostilities towards company policies eventually erupted into the “Land Office War” of 1836 and 1837.
