Surely we can’t be so definite about no cure or fix, we just don’t know it yet…. Never say never! Someone maybe be able to figure out how to fully rectify the neurological or hormonal imbalances so the brain no longer tells the spine to curve…. I think such a definite no cure or fix is the wrong stance. The body is amazing and can perform miracles in the right conditions.
Well, I'm not trying to be a buzzkill, I'm just the messenger. Right now there is no cure. I think the human body is INCREDIBLE, and I think it's possible that we can one day find some treatment that could address the neurological and hormonal issues. But, we are not there yet, and sadly the medical world is pretty happy to put all their eggs in the 'basket' of surgical fusion. When I see how they are managing the bracing protocols for instance, it's clear to me that they believe the ONLY worthwhile intervention is fusion. And sadly, many kids are sitting around doing nothing while their curves are getting worse when they could be doing rehab like what we do in my clinic.
