Deriding One Time Pad, or RSA with an attack that only works if you know the structure of a very simple message, and there is no further encryption, compression, salting or checking... is not very convincing

It's just an example. The greater point is that you can never know what a system does if the ciphertext and the underlying message is slightly malformed, and there are real-life of examples of the resulting error messages providing useful information that will eventually allow the attacker to reach their goal. This is what we call a decryption oracle, and we generally try to make encryption such that those don't help the adversary.
