Well done! Just installed the LR Baggs M1 Passive in my Ibanez AW300, The M1 is a soundhole pickup, so a bit different than the Element. Pretty easy process and equally happy with the resulting sound.
Thanks for all the great AC340 videos. They convinced me to pick up a used 2021 model and install a Journey Instruments pickup ( K&K clone ) this week. I love the mellow sound unpugged and playability. Your enthusium for the AC340 is contageous.
Man, you are fearless. L.R. Baggs should provide the link to this video in the package of every one of those they sell. You are especially good at explaining the options and why you chose to do what you did. Sounded great to my ears. Cheers!
Thanks my friend!! I’m just that sort of person, I have to fiddle with things :) it honestly was so straight forward, and thanks for the kind words as always Brad, cheers!
I just now saw this and laughed out loud at the "IT"S ALIVE" clip!!!. Very well done Derek!! It sounds fantastic and you did a nice job installing the system. Really enjoyed this one, Cheers Bro!!
Love that plugged in tone. I’ve been wanting to install the lr baggs element in my Ibanez as well because I love the guitar so much. Thank you for the video
I've had my AC340 for about 2 years and i will never let it go. No pickup in it but I did spend $100 on Martins Liquid Metal bridge pins and it went from a really good guitar to an incredible guitar!! My go to instrument for all styles of playing. Do I go for the LR Baggs....probably!
She's sounding great Derek. I wouldn't have the cojones to attempt this yet but it's brilliant to have a detailed reference. Many thanks. Still love my Ibanez as well btw. Take care mate.
Cheers Bryan! Nah it’s pretty straight forward to be honest, I was anxious but then once I got started it was really easy :) take care and enjoy the Ibanez
Great video... I have done a few of these and you showed great technique and patience! As for the sound ....is it just me?? - the pick up sounds terrible!!!I wonder what it would sound like through an acoustic simulator/pre amp??
Cheers man! it took a while and it was fairly easy, it's not the best direct into the interface, it does sound a lot better through an acoustic amp, i've tried it with the fishman performer, sounds great, cheers!
wow this was an amazing video! I had no clue how to do an installation like this and this makes me wanna try it on some non electric acoustic guitar! You made it seem easy lol thanks!
Thanks David, honestly it was very very straight forward, I’d recommend taking your time and giving it a go, it was my first tine and was surprised how easy it was, go for it! Cheers and stay well :))
This was a really pleasant video to watch. You were informative and the ambient background acoustic was soothing. I took the LR Baggs Anthem system from a damaged Orangewood and was going to place it into my Ibanez AV4CE after removing the Fishman sonicore, but the bracing is a bit too high for the preamp. Was wondering if sanding a bit off the brace or shimming the sound hole preamp would be best. LR Baggs kindly sent me more adhesive pads. Thanks for any advice. Your playing sounds pretty terrific too.
Thanks very much for the comment! I would try to adjust the preamp rather than the guitar as that would be non-reversible, hope it all works out for you, cheers!
Sweet install bro, I just recently discovered the ibanez artwood series, once I heard the tone I had to get one. Got the same model as you coming in next week, super pumped!
Cheers, I enjoyed this video even though I will never use the information. You are such a joy to watch and I was considering a mahogany Martin or Taylor but you have changed my thinking. I just want something smaller than sounds good for around the house. Cheers!
Thanks John, your comment is very much appreciated, i put Elixer phosphor bronze 11's on it and it still sounds and plays fantastic after 2 years, cheers!
Wow, you’re doing what I’ve been a bit scared to do yet. I always freak out at “step 1: drilling “ 😂😂😂 This is amazingly well done: I know what to wacth when I’m ready. 👏
Great video and well put together 👍🏻 Are you planning on adding an external battery compartment to make it handier to change? How long do you get with a battery usually? Thanks for sharing
Is Ibanez ac340CE which has a pickup already installed much different from ac340? I haven’t got the change to try the electric version but I’ve played ac340 in store and I loved it, sounds perfect, feels even better, I’m planning to get one just I would really love to use some pedals what I can’t do if it’s not electric acoustic, so that’s where I’m still overthinking about which guitar I should get.. P.s That’s a great video, highly enjoyed watching it and learning another thing!
I like how the guitar sounds, and I like how sounds your English))👍 Searching for myself some 12-strings guitar too. Maybe I'll take the AEG1812II-DVS from Ibanez.. Thanx for this amazing video!
@@DerekPaulGuitar You are right. Generally it not make sound better, but give you faster response - great for faster playing but not only. You can hear sound directly from guitar not bounced from wall for example what need noticeable delay. Difference is huge. I have sound port in classical guitar, first time I test it on closed, then on open and I never closed it again :)
I'm thinking on installing this as well on my aw54 but the bracing's making me doubt it would fit the volume knob that has the plastic covering, do you think it will or should i go with just the one you are using? thank you grat vid!
Thanks for the comment! There’s no reason it wouldn’t fit, the volume and tone controls are only about an inch in length, but I don’t know the aw54 unfortunately, I’d be surprised if it didn’t fit though, cheers!
It’s never going to be close to be honest, but it is a good piezo preamp, check out my NUX stageman II charge video where I play only the piezo, cheers! ruclips.net/video/EyPfL001MNQ/видео.html
