The reboot boot vans were actually in replay mode before Apex came out, so Fortnite actually had them being developed as Apex had them being developed for their games
I only started playing Fortnite this year and I didn‘t even know the game actually had Lore. Like, obviously some of it is just „cool“ action-movie nonsense to make the game more fun, but there‘s actually coherent, ongoing stuff happening and I‘m fully surprised at that, since a storyline is not usual for round based multiplayer online games. This is great!

But possibly it’s also a lot of nostalgia. While I think old Fortnite is amazing, they are still going strong. Like, from a new player’s perspective: The quality of the storytelling and world building are objectively really high up. Gameplay wise, yes a lot changed, but back then it was a new game and concept and Fortnite had to find its identity as a product. I think it’s a great universe they created and there’s so much potential for more. I’m excited for my first time seeing a live event first hand on Dec. 3!
Season 4 chapter 1 is still my all time fave season of the game. It was when I really started to play the game hard core and I just loved the Superhero theme around it, the Marvel season is a very close 2nd one though. Just season 4 of chapter 1 holds so many memories for me. Its just amazing to see how far this game has come. I love the story telling and everything about it and I have no plans to stop playing anytime soon, this is easily a game that I will play until it gets shut down for good
Chapter 1 season 5 is my all time favorite. It was when I really started to play the game seriously. It's also when I got my PS4 (I have a PS5 now, but at the time, I had a PS4). The first and only time I played season 4 was on my older brother's Xbox 1 ( he has a Series S now). It was also the first time I played Fortnite. I was 14 at the time. Now I'm 19 and turn 20 in December
i played it for a day or two and i was like 3 levels away from orange justice, then i stopped playing and continued after at season 6 :( if only i knew it would be such a good emote later on

I just downloaded the game after not having played it since 2018 and it's a completely different game. I started playing when it came out and stopped mid way through season 5 so I didn't get all the stages of the Viking but I do have all of Drift. I also apparently own very rare skins like the Black night and the Reaper. its a nostalgia trip to see reminiscences of what the map used to be.
Honestly Fortnite’s gameplay is WAAAAY more fun than it used to be. You guys gotta realize that you don’t just miss the old game, you miss being young.

OG Fortnite (true OG fortnite) had EVERYBODY impatiently waiting at school or work until they could go home and hop on with the bros and play. Also think about all the halloween costumes that kids continue to wear to this day. And all the different merchandise such as pickaxes, back packs, even the weapons (toy scar's & such.) Not to mention all the different emotes that people do too... AND think about all the tournaments such as the world cup. I seriously doubt well ever see a game do that much to society... Edit: COMPLETLY forgot about Fortnite being the first game to ever have events in game that would change the map (like meteor.)

Fortnite needs to listen to their community since they’re the ones that actually play the game. Everyone’s been telling them for years to bring back the original map and they finally do for one month. Then after that month we’re back to over complicated fortnite with NPC’s. When middle schoolers are telling you your game is too complicated. It’s too complicated.

i just eventually lost interest in fortnite due to the substantial amount of things that would come into the game, and just be gone forever the next chapter. its not like other live service games like minecraft where they only add things, and never remove anything. fortnite doesnt just keep building upon what they already made, instead every season they remove everything from the last one to add new stuff. and i miss when it had its entirely own story, where now the story is heavily reliant on multiverse stuff and generally not having a real direction to it. i miss when the lore was interesting. im likely gonna only get around to it in a few years, but im planning on making a remake/reimagining of fortnite STW by myself, due to its abhorrent missed potential. and probably having a battle royale mode if i feel like it. would still add new stuff, but only things that fit into the gameplay and only build upon it instead of replacing it.
I remember, in chapter 1 season 7, I woke up at like 4am to do the ice king event. And when I got in the game, the event was about to happen, in like 5 mins, there was loads of people at the top of polar peak, and I got pickaxed to death. So I left the game, and tried getting into another one, and my game was bugging and wasn’t letting me go into a match, because of issues and stuff. I was so annoyed 😅

I joined fortnite with the evie battle pass (because of her, actually) and after years of being on the "fortnite is such a meme game and pretty nerdy" bandwagon, this game time and time again has slapped me in the face for judging it so early. it is one of the best live service games going on right now, recieves constant updates and balancing, stays consistently fun, and you can just tell that the devs fucking adore their game. I really love fortnite. I'm glad I started playing.

Chapter 2 was more superior than chapter 1. It had npcs, bosses, mythics, better events, animals, cars, and better themed seasons. I understand that a lot of you enjoyed chapter 1 better, but this chapter had way more content

Chapter 2 was more superior than chapter 1. It had npcs, bosses, mythics, better events, animals, cars, and better themed seasons. I understand that a lot of you enjoyed chapter 1 better, but this chapter had way more content
you just had to be there for chapter 1. you will never know how it was to face the reaper and be the reaper with the glider you got by doing challenges at tier 100 that looks like a mustang's taillights

I played chapter 1 season one to season four, I quit the game because everybody suddenly acted like if they lose they’ll die in the life, and to be honest I hated the updates I prefer simplicity
