This song goes so much more deeper in meaning. He mentioned he lost his way and she promised to stay but obviously, her heart couldn't take the hurt that she experienced from him. He's trying to reconcile what he has done but unfortunately, she is giving him a hard time. Honestly, sometimes it not easy to forgive someone for hurting you and once that trust is gone, it will never be the same!

This is a underated ballad. This song is hard af to sing too. To go from full body talking voice then his transition to Falsetto is crazy. It takes full emotion to do that. Not just mastering octaves. Any one can do that ,like beyonce but lack of emotion. But the emotion you feel when you singing along with him is not embarrasing or insecure you truly feel his confusion and pain to the point that your body is in full motion of dance. the irony is hes not dancing in this video. But you move with emotion. This is truly masterful

A lot of symbolism in this video. He come out of the club (representing the club life) to meet what I presume to be his home burned out (the state of the relationship). And she is so far away. Gotta make it back but he has to go through the heat and dryness of the desert (dry relationship) and the mirages (of the past) then comes the rain, thunder and lightning (stormy relationship) but he still tries and climbs. Even when he reached the top of the mountain it's cold (cold relationship) and she is not there anymore (only a whisper).
