  • A quick overview on how to remove and reinstall the wedge grip jaws on our closing door style wedge grips. This procedure is important to follow when removing jaws to add new jaws in. Universal Grip offers jaws for both round samples and flat samples. These type of wedge grips are great for harder materials such as iron, softer non-hardened steels, brass and aluminum. For hardened steels over 30 HRC, pneumatic or hydraulic wedge grips are needed. For more information please visit us at www.universalgripco.com

HI Maharshi the crankshaft is like a gear itself, it is a geared system to move the spline which moves the wedges up down.

    question: why copper grease ?

Copper Grease is an anti-seize compound. since there is no rubber, plastic or anything else, just steel on steel, copper grease is the best option instead of oil or synthetic lubricant. Copper grease also operates well in a wide range of temperatures -100C to +1,000C. Many other lubricants and greases will freeze or burn/evaporate. Copper grease also stays put, it doesn't leak everywhere and get messy. Copper Grease remains the best option.
