  • Off season projects like planting trees should be at the top of your to-do list now that deer season is over. Right now is a great time to begin planting trees to benefit your wildlife. So much emphasis is put on food plots, but many people forget about mast producing trees because of the lack of instant gratification. It takes years for your work of planting the trees to produce results, but they are an integral part of a wildlife management plan and with proper care can provide food for many years.
The Wildlife Group offers a vast selection of mast and fruit trees as well as planting and growing supplies. Our show this week is an in-depth how-to plant trees for wildlife with Allen Deese, the owner of The Wildlife Group. He covers their process in packing and shipping the trees to ensure healthy trees upon delivery to you. Allen then takes you through what you need to do in order to properly plant trees for wildlife on your property. If you've ever wondered how to prepare the hole for planting, how deep to plant it, and any other tricks you can do to ensure the longevity of your investment, then this is the video for you.

I don't like hunting very much and don't see the point in it, but at least you're doing something good for the environment. Good on you.

You dont see the point in obtaining your own sustainably sourced meat from wildlands that support habitat for game and other wildlife?

I`m curious just what sort of machine or technique you guys use when putting these videos together? Besides the information provided these are the highest quality videos I have ever seen on the internet. You must have a state of the art camera crew with some top notch gear. What sort of camera/video are you using? Keep up the fine work.

Do you have a remedy to keep deer from rubbing on the trees you plant for the wildlife? 90% of mine got wiped out from deer rubs. Thank you for your time.

I live down in Mississippi and apple trees are definitely hard to plant and keep a live where I live what would be the best fruit tree that can take the kind of weather I get down here. I know a pear tree will work but will a persimmon tree grow do here tho
