    Had to fix a problem with the drive belt. The drive belt came off of a pulley and stopped moving. This video shows the problem, diagnosis and the fix.

    Thank you! I bought a new belt, I was about to buy new pulleys, but I knew it had to be something else. I saw your little piece of wood and I was like no way that’d be my issue. I was already laying under the mower and instantly looked up and saw a piece of wood there! Nice work!

    Thank You! Had the same problem this afternoon. The belt was around the transmission and all the pullies but was not turning. After taking the mower out and looked underneath, I saw the belt slipped out of the pully on the motor! Put it back and all is good!

So grass is over a foot tall, got a new deck belt for the backup LT1000 cut about a 100' and hit something and ripped the spindeleoff the deck......so now I have to fox the orange girl......

    Having a sticking pedal problem. Have to engage the brake to go into reverse and /or go into forward. Accelerates to full speed with pedal fully depressed but won't return to neutral. Cleaned debris out of spring and lever mechanism area under plastic cover but still not right. Any ideas where to look next?

    Nice! Mine is acting up today. It makes noise when the parking brake is released too so I need to dig into that ,but it's also not returning the speed pedal to center.... It's hard to any thing but the outboard end of the linkage shaft un der the pedal and there is nothing there that appears to be and issue. Ideas? Thoughts? THANKS!

    • @RealManSkills

      Is there a spring missing? A spring that pulls the speed pedal back up?

    I have a YTH18542 lawnmower wont go in reverse or forward. Belt is in place from what I have seen, when it starts rolling down the hill the brakes don't work, and it will move sometimes with the blade engaged. It has me stumped, possible my transmission is going out?

  • @bowen704
    @bowen704 Год назад +1

    I have this same mower, it gets stuck in drive and when I can get it to reverse it goes very slow I’m thinking there’s a similar issue going on. How did you get the tractor on its rear? Empty gas and oil first right?

    • @RealManSkills
      @RealManSkills  Год назад +1

      I use a chain hoist to raise up the front end of the tractor. I have never had an issue with the gas and oil.

    Just put the park brake on and you can start it with out putting weight on the seat.

    • @RealManSkills
      @RealManSkills  Год назад +3

      I needed to release the brake to inspect the where the sound was coming from. If I was sitting on the seat, I couldn't look under the tractor.

    Wet a Beautiful low idle - the shop wound mine up and I don't like it ,,don't suppose you know how to turn down the idle do you ? Mines the FR651v Kawi , but I bet there All similar Carby function

    • @RealManSkills
      @RealManSkills  5 месяцев назад

      Haven't worked with Kawasaki much, but most carb linkages have a screw to turn in or out accordingly. Another option is the governor spring attached to a metal tab that can be bent up or down accordingly.

      @jaxturner7288 3 месяца назад +1

      Your owners manual (available online) will show you.
      It’s the easiest and most obvious adjustment you will find on it using a Philips screwdriver.
      Do not adjust the governor linkage. (8mm bolts with locknuts).

    • @RealManSkills
      @RealManSkills  Год назад +1

      First of all, there is a square key between the rim and rear axle on both rear tires. Make sure those square keys are in place. If so, you might have a bad transaxle. Replaceable, but expensive.

    I have the Craftsman T240 Turn Tight tractor..I looked at Husqvarna John deere the Craftsman T240 Turn Tight was the choice hands down better build than the other two simply a much better tractor all around..k46 transmission with steel gears metal hood Kohler 7000 series 22 horsepower 725cc V Twin engine 3 year unlimited hours warranty 5 year warranty on frame..dry weight 630 pounds the the list is long...I'll definitely get a few decades out of this one..

      I haven't seen one of those yet. The Tuff Torque K46 transaxle is a common unit that is on many tractors. Glad you didn't get one of those plastic transaxles that some Craftsman tractors have. Thanks for sharing that info and thanks for watching!
