I was just a teenage in the LORD'S house when I sang this song with my choir and I heard same song this morning as I was just praying and meditating on His Word. I came to faith in 1994 and many of the songs then grounded me in scripture and inspired me. They really honoured the Lord. There are only a few that really do that now. It's become a money making industry sadly...
My mom would play this song evryday morning as she woke me up for school. This is such great music and worship.

@@theodoreritola7641 - maybe you're trying too hard to be the way God wants you to be - try letting go of your control and then ask Jesus to do the work in your heart.
You can pray this short prayer (which helped me - I felt a change every time I prayed it - and I prayed it for one week): "Jesus, please cleanse my heart" - Try it and see the differences it makes already the first time you pray for this.
-After one week, I was almost free from being angry towards other people; what you need might not be to get rid of being angry, but something else - but Jesus _will_ fix the problems you have, if you let Him. ❤😃
Yes, Brian Doerksen's worship songs have been a mainstay in my life for years with Vineyard Music-- certainly still " elevates spirit/soul no matter how bad life can be, esp when severe chronic illness can be overwhelming. Praise Jesus- the same yesterday, today, and forever!

I heard this song in the early/mid 90's and it left such an impression on me. Sang it in worship over the years. In my devotion this morning it popped up in my head and a simple google search, here I am enjoying it and praying along again! What a blessing!
Thank you Brian for a remake of this classic. My Mom told me of how this song positively impacted her life as a young believer and I was curious to hear it as well, and it has greatly inspired me as a young music minister to seek for the fire of God in my life.

I'm from Denmark and loved this worship song from the first time I heard it - it was probably in 2002.
I still think it's the most powerful song I've ever heard and personally, it's still my favorite song.

My mentor in worship leading though we never met face to face. I watched your vineyard videos and learnt from the input you give. I know your family stories, they have been an encouragement to me, and an inspiration for me to be real with God. Your songs were my go-to-list to find meaningful, congregration, theologically sound songs for the growth of my walk with Christ and leading the church to do the same in worship (when I led in an English speaking church). So many of these songs: Today; Jesus-hope of the nations; Purify my heart; Everlasting, Your love is amazing, and many others ... and Psalm 13 (what a way to bring a less common element of worship to life). Favorite worship song of modern era, brings back memories and sentiments of 35 years playing guitar in worship band. It has such an eerie longing feeling to it. I think the prayer was answered for me. I no longer have such longing to plea for help or freedom from shame. Rather I'm learning my identity as an adopted beloved son of the Father because I'm in Jesus and highly favored - no shame, no need to earn more, which makes Jesus so cool and God so good...living in my spirit (new man) which is all the fire I'll need.

You are right that he is really great! He is Brian Thiessen and we’ve been friends since we were boys. He has some of his own music out too.
@@BrianDoerksenMusic Thanks for the reply, Brian! I was listening to a 90s worship playlist on Spotify and found the original recording of this song. I was pretty blown away with Brian's playing and tone. It even spurred a healthy conversation on our church worship team's discord channel about his gear choices.
