TVS Ntorq vs Ather 450x | Which scooter is the most fun? | PowerDrift

- For centuries we have wondered if an electric scooter is more fun than a petrol scooter… we are still wondering but a bit less. Because Varun and Shumi took the Ather 450X and the TVS Ntorq, India’s top scooters in their categories, to Circuit 77, a go-kart track in Pune, to have some fun, we mean, to see if they could find the answer. You won’t believe what happened next.

NTorq
Was waiting for this.... 👍
Powerdrift always surprises me.... 👍
electric
It cleared many confusions and it was a wanted comparison between electric and petrol scooters
I bought the 450x purely since it's "funner". The warp mode gets you darting ahead at signals.. Pure juvenile joy!!
Bro how much range you get in normal city use ?

Yeah it is ridiculous, and too much fun. Not to be missed out on. City commutes have not been such fun for a long time.
One should wait for electric scooters until they become common, price will certainly come down (Ola electric is on it's way)
True! Especially as batteries get better
That's why I canceled electric scoots
You get what you pay for! But right now we can all agree that Ather is the best looking one and features packed which no other ev scooter is offering

In a long race, Ntorq will win in long race, but in short race, no one can defeat 450X due to the huge torque.
now simple and ola can

Its not all about torq its about bike weight too .ntorq is heavy weight interms of scooty.n ather is light weight scooty with thin tyres

Using Ntorq race edition bs6 from March 2020 , overall it's a great scooter .
It's handling, build quality , looks , headlight, storage space, performance, suspension tuning , comfort etc are very good ; only front brake is not that good .
Don't know about the milage exactly as I have done only 3k kms in a year as it's being used only for shopping and goods carrying purposes . I think Ntorq is the best petrol scooter in India 🙌🏻

keep going, guys...
also a small request from my side...
can you please come up with a playlist or create a series that is more directed towards young riders which can cover all the basics and things around that zone??
Ntorq(1 lakh)- 5.8x100= 580rs 200km range
Ather(1.5 lakh)- 3x7rs/unit= 21rs and 85km range
Petrol prices have made EVs look cheaper.
I would pick the Ather.. Coz James May put it damn well on DriveTribe. Let's be part of the evolution that is Electric vehicles. It's gonna be an experience to explore the unknown. And to all those range anxiety folks, where is your sense of adventure?
It's just so cool how much money too would have been saved over a few years, and the pure joy of riding a well made machine.
@@moviesenthil Yeah but the battery cost is still 50k after 3 years.

If build quality of scooters are considered then both brands have done supreme job but nothing beats drivability & practicality of Ntorq & the platform on which it is based on which is Wego.
Build quality is definitely better on the Ather everything looks and feels premium on it. It is expensive too.

I own an TVS Ntorq and Ather 450 and i can say Ather is definitely the best and amazing investment ever it's already 10k in past 6 months now that petrol prices have hit a century EV's are the best option more fun,no maintenance, cheaper but expensive which is due to the lithium battery but you'll get back your money back in long term which you would usually spend on fuel and maintenance! Basically Petrol scooter < Ather 450x
Varun being a mood for 12 minutes straight xD
Hahaha! He sure is!
It was a funner time! 😂😂😂
Tell me about it 🙄
Lol, Shumi is the OG here. No doubt about that :3
Really!!!park assist!!!!🤣😅🤣😂😅
Oh yeah!

When the Kid inside you comes out.... You do things you always wanted to 😍
Ntorq although i would like to have electric vehicle in daily use and to go out on long rides but you know when it comes to electrical vehicle alll goes down on range until and unless range increase there is no such a point to buy electrical scooter because as you see Mumbai is almost 50 km so if you want to commute under 50km then probably electric scooter is for you well choose after keeping all aspects in mind 🙌🏼
we are not there for the electric ones , once we have enough recharging stations and all use the same plugs , electric vehicles are amazing but i still believe Hybrids are the best till then
Recharge in 5 hours is not practical for any station
one more thing is, we still have a big ? on what will be the resale value of EVs (keeping away plans that manufacturers give) in open market.
for a person who uses vehicle everyday for not more than 50kms, will not have range anxiety. But the cost of 1.5lacs for Ather can be recovered early if person really use it everyday for 40kms to 60kms.
we also need details like what are the service costs of ather.

A funner video, interesting comparison, especially when cost comes into the picture. TVS Ntorq is surely a wonderful product, right amount of practicality, right amount of performance and right amount of design tadka(though that DRL makes it look awkward)...Ather 450X, though could never see them on road, looks like a potent option for the early adopters, though how practical cud it be in the cities with least EV infra is a major concern
i do see quite a bit of ev scooters( mainly ather) these days. I guess most of them use it for short city runs where range or traffic isn't a big deal but still we have a long way to go to completely adapt to ev vehicles.
@@vivejk4443 true, am curious to know how Ather does in cities like Mumbai, which is known for its crazy traffic issues and diverse or stark contrasting development (i.e. South Bombay vs the other Mumbai/MMR)

The only issue with electric vehicles right now are prolonged rides. Can't use them for long drives. But for city that doesn't matter much.
I use Ather 450 for the last one year. If you have a planned schedule, this is the best scooter.
Just experience a ride in Ather 450X once you'll know how amazing it feels!
Correct. People I introduced to the Ather were all talking about options, Okinawa, Hero Electric, etc., but once they rode the Ather, pure silence.

01:27 Varun's Expressions
A scooter's purpose is to go in and around the city in about a radius of max. 40 km everyday
And coming to the fueling ather cost munch lesser so ather is a family scooter whereas ntorq is an all rounder
Which bell should I press for next videos I want both

Very nice. Thank you team. This video is very useful for young generation. Thank you team.

We surely will, Ronak! Do stay tuned!
Practical answer would be Ntorq, in terms of pricing, ecosystem and tension free mind about if I run out of fuel I can bump into any of the fuel stations. I love the Ather X but pricing ecosystem and I would have to know the charging points in the routes which I would intend to travel. Ather X would be a preference for someone who travels in the same route with knowing the charging points perfectly.
TVS seriously ruined the BS6 variant of Ntorq. That biiig oomph at the start is no more there. I wouldn't say that it's no longer fun to ride but, that still makes a lot of difference.
Also, amazing video!
I bought ntorq after this video ... Oh my god what a scooter it is ... That was amazing guys my friend has an ather 450X and lemme tell you i rode both ... Both are bloody amazing except for Ntorq is a bit cooler 😂😂 .. but both scooters are worth buying even for a long run
Great to see a truthful review of the vehicle you earn your bread and butter from. ❤️❤️ Ather ❤️❤️
LOL. Did Varun take few shots of tequila before the filming? Lively video this.
He's just in a good mood! Hahaha!
12:33 ntorq rider be like - "thug life song plays in behind"
The People who are debating of the high price of Ather...should consider that combustion engines has been there since decades its a mass market thing...so the prices are less...coz its commonly used...on the other hand ather is electric which is newer...and taked a lot more R & D and technology to manufacture thats why they are expensive once they become mass market and commonly used there prices will go down...but there is no doubt that electric are fun to ride...and something as polished as the Ather...its worth every penny...😌
This video deserves to b in 4K 🥺 Also the aspect ratio is kinda off on mobiles. Great content though 👍🏻
A little bit mathematics here. Considering the price difference, the break even point is at 50,000 k.m. so you can save the money on fuel only after 50,000 k.m. But you may need the expensive battery replacement after 50,000km. So basically you are not saving any money at this time. But if fuel price hikes and ev vehicles evolved to next level then EVs are worth considering.
Ntorq is great at cornering
Do some top gear special kinda episodes too
ahha...finally found a video in which bg score is re-used from previous videos!! :)
Is shumi dancing all around (honda cb500x launch)???
Yes. The price bugs me but the bike is AWESOME
@@shu_mar Please make a video sharing your thoughts of cb 500x pricing.
Really waited for this !
The only reason why the Electric scooters are not better than the Petrol ones is because of the range issue and lack of charging facilities and time taken to recharge them.
Why can't we go for replacing the batteries instead of recharging them such as having the standard sets of batteries across all the Electric manufacturers at electric recharging stations like filling up the Petrol ??
It's just an idea, but requires huge investment on batteries. That's a fact !!
India should create a mechanism or technology to become the market hub for batteries like manufacturing and exporting them by eliminating the dependence on other countries.
Watching this video was really fun-tastic.

You guys should have taken the Access as the benchmark in 125cc. I think the access did better than ntorq in the go cart track. Anyday, I would still pick the IC bikes which are straight forward in terms of emissions and eco manners. Where the electric vehicles are surely not greener in any way better than the IC vehicles.
BTW, it was an interesting video... Good creativity and effort
I am planning to switch to electric because I don't want to pay exorbitant, ever-increasing prices for petrol with 120% govt taxes on the refinery price. An 18% tax would have been understood like GST, not the current crap we have going on. Second is the service costs and service center experience for many people.
I personally don't give a rats arse about "emissions" - it is the biggest geo-political fraud of this century. Ask anyone who switched to electric - most practical switchers switch because of petrol prices. Because if there is pollution, it is not c02 to be worried about.. There is plastic pollution and such resource wastage due to beef consumption, etc. But you will never see these firangis talk about it.
@@ZantoshGaming good. But did you even consider how much you will spend for battery replacement? And what will you do with the vehicle after 4 years? An inverter battery I purchased in 2019 which cost me 8.5k then is now 11k. This is the only thing holding me back from EV of any segment. I don't have range anxiety and love the torque output of EV. Will surely switch when battery tech is made sustainable.
I would want tvs to come up with ntorq electric. Their present iqube is not a quality product compared to ather and chetak. Ntorq is good in dynamics and would love to see the electric version of the same.
