Ah mate. Thank you. Myself and family (4) is currently looking for a van. I was nearly set on a full size van and never considered a hybrid. You have changed my mind
Love your content !! Big shoutout from Los Angeles Cali!!! Just a friendly observation… I had a fire in my rig due to the fact that I had a drill similar to yours and with all the bouncing around while off road !! It accidentally turned on an caught a towel on fire after twisting things around in a plastic container. From that point on I always remove large batteries from any tools! Keep on rocking!! -Ponce
Hi, thanks for watching. Good to see some overseas viewers watching our channel 👍 I quite often leave the battery in so I will take your advice and remove battery every time we are in transit. Thanks again for watching
thats for showing the bed set up / pack up. I haven't seen that anywhere on any hybrid review. This has been one of my concerns of how easy it would be to move the mattress for one person and stay made up.
Hi im entertained with how u guys made a detailed description of your van .i love your set up and how you've added bits and pieces too ... you guys very creative and resourceful. We are considering buying similar van soon . More power to you guys. Take care and enjoy your travels.
That’s great, I’m glad you’ve gotten something out of it. We are very new so we hope to improve our video skills over time. Thank you very much for your feed back 🤜🤛👍
Thanks for showing your warts and all of your van. I think it’s fantastic. Well I would just love any van right now lol we just swag atm lol van prices are insane
Hi Ol Mac Crew, a great walk around video. Didn't miss a thing. We have the Tanami X11. So far so good except for a minor leak which took two trips to their workshop before any success. That's the one problem we've had, their lack of service. We purchased an Enerdrive 200AH Lithium and their DC2DC charger, and Austrack fitted them. We've put yellowbelly fillets on the bottom of the freezer at night and they are as hard as a rock by morning. Have you thought about the Stone Stomper? It's the best buy we've made. Protects the van on the worst of gravel roads. Ours is only a baby size compared to yours. You have so much more room for storage which we are constantly trying to work on. And you've given us some ideas to consider, so thanks for that. Great video, I love the comparisons between vans and owners. Happy travels.
Hi, thanks for watching our video, I’m glad you got some ideas out of it, that’s why we do these to help others. I’ve defianately thought of the stone stomper and will probably get one for ours next year if all goes well
@@badge4au agree with you mate, before we done this trip I did zip tie pool noodles onto the plumbing to protect from stones for when we done the gibb river rd which seemed to work as I have no damage that I’ve seen yet
Hi, thanks for watching. We love our van even after 3.5 years. The new models look even better with some upgraded features ours doesn’t have. When we upgrade we will be 100% looking at another Austrack. Possibly the new Gibb 16 perhaps 😜
G'day Ol Mac crew, thanks for the great van tour and tips. We should be picking up or 15B next month and doing the Gibb next year. Just seeing what brand diesel heater you installed? Also how did you deal with dust inside the van? Did you install a dust reduction system or block vents during travel?
Hi, glad you enjoyed the walkthrough, our diesel heater is a eBay special and works a treat and we don’t have a dust reduction system and to be honest we never got a lot of dust in our van but the little but we did just wiped it down, most of the dust from the gibb just settled on the step just inside the door. Hope this helps
We get a little leak around the skylight under heavy rain but that is usually when dead level. Water doesn’t escape the roof well. Other than that is has been great
Hi, we used the koala foldaway 2 prong aerial and we run the cable from the tv down under the bed to the kitchen and just have the connection sitting just under the slideout then just plug aerial in as we need it, has really good reception in most places and don’t need the booster either. Hope this helps
What do you think of the Austrack 5months on from this video, still holding up good and still enjoying it? Or do y’all wish you went with something else?
We’ve had this van for 2.5 hrs now and we still love it, it’s holding up very well and we are very glad we bought it. We’ve done a lot of travelling with it including the gibb river rd and we still get excited every time we take it away
Hi, haven’t had to fix anything major, just the odd screw that’s came out here n there and I’m going to replace shocks after chrissy as they have had 2 years of abuse so time to go
Hi, thanks for your comment, we installed the unit under the lounge, just may need to cut the board that’s inside to suit, wasn’t hard at all but it’s the only place we could find to fit it
Hi, yes we looked at several and we’re almost sold on a Jayco outback 17.5ft pop top but the tanami got over the line due to the more accessories it had at a cheaper price plus we wanted a more compact van for our type of travel
Hey I’m looking at buying a tatami 15 and was wondering how your Nissan patrol went towing it? I have a gu patrol with a 4.2 td and was hoping it would tow it alright. Cheers
Hi mate, my gu tows our 15 No problem but on the warmer days and hilly country slow and steady wins the race. I have heavier springs in the back with air bags to help compensate the weight on the van to keep the big girl steady
@@olmaccrew2458 kool that’s good to know, mine has been tuned (safe tune), larger inter cooler, already has the heavier springs and air bags so I should be fine, thanks.
@@beersintheshed. that’s good, you should have no problems. Mine doesn’t have a intercooler at all but will be putting one on before our big trip next year.👍
Thanks, terrific walk through Love it 🐨🌻🕊️💖

Hey old Mac crew, great video. Enjoyed the no fuss down to earth review and the real world use of the Tanami van.
Thanks for posting. Looks a great van

No worries, it’s something we hadn’t seen either so we thought it would be handy to show how easy it is
You guys have a bloody good set up I like it Thanks for showing us
Anytime Tom, keep an eye out we have some vids coming up in the next day or 2
Thanks really great - I am looking at getting one
They are a great van, we have had ours for 3 years and still love it, we will be doing a 3 year review on our van soon so keep an eye out for that 👍

Great video loved the van thanks for the review 👍🏻👌
Thanks guys been looking for more details on one of these Van's & was concerned about dust getting in around the bed where it folds out.
No problem, hope it helped

We get a little leak around the skylight under heavy rain but that is usually when dead level. Water doesn’t escape the roof well. Other than that is has been great
What brand was the awning mate, great video :)
The awning is a haillie i think it’s called and the shade sails are from sun buster shades
Can you please tell me where you purchased your customised bed quilt/blanket with the dog in the middle?
Hi that’s a good question, Vick organised it but can’t remember where she got it from but she will try to find out tomorrow and I’ll get back to you
How much was the sunbuster kit.. I'm just a bit confused by there website
Hi, when we purchased ours about $1250 delivered but that was a couple of years ago, may have changed a little in price now
Hi, we have a Tanami x13 and have poor TV reception. Which Foldaway aerial did you buy and where did your the cable to get into the van? thanks

We were on Moreton Island in the north west camping zone
Hi Old Mack can you’ll green get the annex Wall panels your using from.👍
Do you mean where I got them from? If so I got them from sunbuster shades in Queensland, they will post them to you

What about the mould under your mattress, doesn’t look very clean uggh
Hi, that’s not mould, it’s just marks from when Vick puts her foot on the mattress to push it back to setup the bed 👍
