It doesn't make sense to have a camera facing into the sun. It results in alot of poor and washed out photos. Even with the solar panel mounted on top of the camera, there will be many times (e.g. around sunrise and sunset) when the panel does not shade the lens and sensors. I didn't use that mounting hub either. The best way I've found is to mount the solar panel on the same strap as the camera is mounted. The same bracket that you would use if you were going to mount the solar panel on top of the camera has two slots in it through which you can run the camera strap. I face the camera to the northeast to get maximum protection from the prevailing winds (blowing rain and snow) and from the degrading effects of the sun, and, I have the solar panel on the opposite side of the tree facing southwest to get maximum sun exposure. You can adjust the angle of the panel depending on where the most sun exposure is (e.g. openings in the tree shade, lower sun in Winter, etc.).
Great and informative video Larry. Thanks for sharing, hope y’all’s get more bobcats!
With my goats I have mixed feelings about the bobcat but I know they’re here.
@@LSatch definitely 💯 understand Why! It’s neat that y’all still get to see them! 👍
Do you have to ever pay to use the sim card? If you don't renew the subscription is the camera unusable? Thanks for the informative video!
Yes you do. I'm not going to. I won't be able to view a live feed but I can take the SD card out and view what happened on it. Look at 15:10
Great video, I noticed they don't have unlimited pictures in there plan is 3g enough
@@jasongrobbel225 sorry, I can’t answer your question. I would reach out to their customer support. They are good about getting back to you soon.

Can you sign up for service, let it expire a month or 2 later and then sign up again after a few months when hunting season comes around?
@@jrod7868 I can’t answer that question, I haven’t tried that.
