Whilst you have the front end off, make sure you clear the cabin air intake drain out. It will be clogged full of dirt and grime and will cause leaks into the cabin otherwise.
Good video, nicely explained, really helped me today, thanks! Only thing I might add would be how the plastic grill piece clips from low down. A little up pressure and gently wriggle it out of the housing. Thanks again!
Hi I'm deano from skelmersdale Lancashire. Thank you both so much at Taking the time & effort to show step by step how to release the front end of the smart. Both great and work well Together and a willingness to explain and show us lesser Enthusiasts how to do this. Brill 😉
Whoever is talking in this video is my kinda guy, I wouldn't get bored lstening to him explain stuff all day long ... "now I'm waffling..." ha ha! Great video
it is possible to fill up coolant by removing the grille on the passenger side (england) and removing the intake for the blower , the other side accesses the brakefluid and i think the wiperfluid and if you know braille you can even replace the lightbulbs through there (though its a test of patience for sure ) its eazier to get the front off
I practice these removing ever on my 450er smart when a headlight bulb is not more working. I remove the complete front panel and changed on these way all bulbs which are in the lights. It is easier then to break your finger when you try to do it through the small plastic parts on the panel. It needs about the same time and your finger will be without damage !
@@L663 Thanks for your answer. I have been driving the 451 Smart since 2009 and I really appreciate the fact that I can now change the lamps in the headlights without removing the whole front panel and scratching my fingers

Hi - all air temp sensors need to have a wire ( normally 2 wires ) going to them as they work on resistance.
