I hate sunscreen. So i began wearing a hat instead. Sunscreen helps. i get it.

One time i rescued a swimmer. All i did was push my surfboard to him, being a flotation device. i told him to put on the leash, and don't let go of it. Then i swam to shore. The waves were small, at most head high, but the currents were a little weird and that was part of the problem. Later on the sand, he told me he cramped up, and couldn't swim anymore.

There's another school of thought about the sunscreens... Hats work - and don't contain carcinogenic chemicals... So you build up a basecoat, and then don't bake intentionally. Live and eat healthy, and the C-word will avoid you ... If you roll those dice and things don't go as well as you would've hoped - try SourSop/Guanabana - which they won't tell you about, because you can't patent a fruit. And you might ask a horse if it has some extra paste, there's some evidence that it could have some benefits, too. And of course, take a melon-baller to the irregular mole, in question.
It sounds like you managed to save a life. Good on ya' mate. 😊

I live on Oahu's Waianae Coast and been ocean swimming here many years. Used to get foot cramps after 1/2 mile or so. Eventually I discovered the simple source of my problem: I was chronically low on electrolytes! I used to surf here too, but finally quit, due to crowds. None of that ego-stress competition thing with swimming, and it's a more well-rounded form of exercise anyway!

Pete, recommend the industry the use of drones for equipment delivery based on the situation, a lifesaver, a new board in a contest to replace a broken one, shark monitoring of course and a ton of other real world scenarios and congrats for all your work in the industry, cheers 🍻

Sooooo? That’s for everyone who surfs on the West Coast! Dang I should’ve got a jet ski in the 90s! 😂😖😜🦆.., yeah I look for the simple reason, don’t be stupid and prepare for the worst possible situation! No One Owns the Ocean and feel free or something else on the ocean. Faith is a good virtue. The last thing I would wish to any person learning to feel good is Dought. Don’t be stupid in the Wild Western Coastal, I’m being Frank! Surf and fishing on Californians! We’ve gone more Farts than this season! 😂🫡❤️

Sea level along the U.S. coastline is expected to rise, on average, 10 - 12 inches in the next 30 years

Yeah...based upon Models... But if models were always right - we'd already be under water, and dead from the 'rona... Everyone TALKS about the weather...but nobody ever DOES ANYTHING about it...- Except for the ENMOD guys in the Military... (Look it up).

I'm older than Pete by quite a few years, but he's a perfect representative. From that part of California we always looked up to the Hawaiians. We were proud, but that never interfered with our admiration for the Hawaiians. We freedove and spearfished, cause that's what the Hawaiians did. We paddled long distance, cause that's what the Hawaiians did. We swam from one beach to another and trained all summer, cause that's what the Hawaiians did. Eddie, Jose Angel, Gerry Lopez, Victor Lopez, Darrick Dorner, Buffalo and Brian Kealana, Laird Hamilton, Buzzy Kerbox, Dave Kalama, I could write my heroe's names down all day. But one extra special California mention: Jeff Clark. He did what no one ever did, or will again, surfing Mavericks alone for 15 years before he showed it to Big Bird and Tom. I can't surf anymore cause of old injuries (can't tie my own shoes or scratch my ankle even), but I'll always be a surfer.
