I've been there with my parents this week and I really enjoyed it. I saw Ivatt 46441 inside the engine shed with the other locos including the Fairburn and a class 20. I'd love to go there again, one day.
@joshhemingwaythewlismetcalfe96 Hi Josh glad you enjoyed your visit there am hoping to go back soon as i have a cab ride experience my parents got me for my birthday, it is a great Railway and in a lovely part of the world, thanks for watching. Tom
I had planned to visit as it would have been a rare sight seeing Leander in Haverthwaite plus one of my last chances of seeing her before she's withdrawn from traffic for overhaul, however the derailment on the Furness Line scuppered the plan.
Am gutted you couldn't go, another person said the same thing, it was really unfortunate to happen the same weekend, I was originally going to be at the Keighley steam gala all weekend but couldn't miss the chance of seeing Leander at Haverthwaite so we went over on Sunday
There's something better than watching from the lineside: riding behind a steamy up close and personal. You can't beat the smell of smoke and steam wafting up your nose.
Glad you enjoyed it, I think they just wanted to stretch its wheels abit, i filmed it going past Newby Bridge and was walking over to see it depart lakeside and there it was without its coaches, it never went quite as far as Newby Bridge
It's a jubilee class owned by the beet family who own ivatt 46441 and they just had both there locos running this weekend before the jubilee (leander) is withdrawn for overhaul
enjoyed this video tom
thanks mate, always a nice place to visit and the weather was good to, nice to see 2 new locos running at the railway

Great video of beautiful locos. Over 40 years since I rode that line.
Thanks glad you enjoyed it, you'll have to take a trip sometime 👍

I done plenty of that over the weekend, and plenty of nice smells from the locos
Lovely video. Wish I could have been there. How come ‘Leander’ ran light back to Newby Bridge with the stock stationed at Lakeside?

Is that a black five and when did they get that?

@@northwesttrainsmodels that’s a shame, I’d of loved to have seen it run on the line. I went a few weeks ago not thinking it was shit haha
@Northernlinejunction I think it's being collected tomorrow to be taken to another railway gala, the ivatt is still running as far as I now
