LMS 45690 & Ivatt 46441 Making History at Lakeside And Haverthwaite Railway 24 03 2024

RARE day indeed, Two of the Beet's family locos on the same line doing alternative runs . Ivatt 2Mt 46441 fresh out of overhaul and 45690 Leander almost out of ticket, history made with Leander working the L& H Railway this weekend . It was a beautifull day and thanks to Cath for some of the camera work today, a most enjoyable day 👍if you like the video so more folk can watch it, thanks .

Great shots. I called in at Haverthwaite on my way home from a weekend in Keswick.They pulled 42073 out of the shed and lit
some rags in the smokebox and posed 46441 42073 and LEANDER together.
Also surprised to see a road roller and traction engine moving around the car park.

Shame i missed that, seen the traction engine and nearly went back to Haverthwaite but i thought they shut at 5pm, thanks very much for the info and comment 🙂

Going to the Lake District in October this year so would be nice to see this loco in action, not been to the railway for a good 10 years now but like mentioned in the comments certainly interesting to have a tender loco on the line

my greatgrandpa used to fire this engine on the mainline, this is the only surviving engine he drove/fired im so happy to see its return ❤
