Kirk Schultz said he wouldnt retire until Wazzu had a conference figured out. He announced retirement in June of 2025. Baseball team lost no one to the portal and Gymnastics was mentioned in May as possible to join big12. WAZZU new AD mentioned few weeks ago that a new conference or plan is coming soon for WAZZU. All of these things point in the direction of potential invitation. Mountain west put pressure on us also because we wouldnt commit to the scheduling agreement next year.

Totally. Something is brewing or has already been brewed. The timeline is what it is though. Unless the schools want to forfeit the money they sued to keep (doubtful), they're likely running things as a duo until 2026.

Steve’s vision is not an option to consider, it’s a NECESSITY.
    No questions.
President Murthy needs to take this very, very seriously and assist in any way possible.
Steve has been extremely patient and resilient against the “headwinds” of apathy towards former players and the program itself.
This was an elite program when Ralph, Steve J, Gary, AC, Charlie, Mark, Ray, Jeff, Lester, Steve W, Eric K were around. These players have been extremely long-suffering like Steve.
Then Ralph retired, Gary graduated, Darrell was fired, and school/athletic administration failed (F-) at capitalizing on the success and decided to just rest on the laurels of the 70s through early/mid 90’s. Shame!
Brent B and Corey B have been very supportive but like me may have gotten “fatigued” and exhausted after 30 years of apathy of investment by administration. Roberto deserves a lot of credit as well.
This HAS to be top priority, IMMEDIATELY.
Thanks very much guys, the most important Beaver pod I’ve heard, perhaps ever.

This is great perspective and you're 100% spot on!
Really appreciate the comment and you tuning in too. It was great to have Steve on, hear his vision for the collective, and understand the challenges around the men's basketball program a little more intently. The AD CANNOT let this effort stall. I don't think we're reclaiming the attention and focus from those big names ever again if it does.

Very curious to see if Steve's plan can piggyback on Tinkle's pivot to European players and provide NIL-esque opportunities for them that they normally wouldn't receive. Getting out ahead of the pack there would be a huge boost and cement the program as one of the top destinations for Euro hoopers while other schools play catch up.

@@belligerentbeavs Absolutely. Let’s keep this secret quiet outside of Beav Fam. 😊
As far as I’m concerned, and I’m a rules follower, “it’s on”, already everybody especially the traitors are playing wide open without rules.
So rather than be the nice little college that got left out it’s time to be cut throat. Hopefully that approach is even possible right now with limited leverage but if we can be the front runner on this front, we have to at minimum put significant resources in to make it work.
Miracles like Casey are once in a lifetime, we can’t depend on that.
I’ve lived (survived) in the Eugene area for a significant amount of time. I promise you, athletes DO NOT come to Eugene because of Eugene.
Corvallis is attractive to good people not swindlers and divas (ex. Jadé Caréy LOVES it here) and with the attractiveness of unique, cutting edge career resources and long lasting, meaningful career and personal relationships for student athletes I truly believe there is great potential with this model but there needs (as Steve said) to be major healing for former players due to major betrayal and abandonment.
Steve’s observation with his fellow Beav alumns was crucial.
Every one of them has more than ample reason to shut the door but now is the time to look forward with creativity and capitalize on a WIDE OPEN TO ANYTHING college athletic world.
      Time to…
Chop ‘em where it counts Beavs. 🔸⬛️

Forgot to mention Eric Knox in Portland. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw him recently on the floor at Gill for a group honor or something. I thought we’d never see him in Corvallis again which in my opinion speaks to the lack of outreach to former athletes.
