Welcome to the 5th episode of Pete reacting to Brazilian guitarists!
As some of you know, Vinnie is Brazilian and Pete is American. So we thought it would be cool if Pete reacted to some of Vinnie's favourite homeland guitar heroes.
In this episode we have the incredible Gustavo Guerra with his rock fusion sound. He won the very first Guitar Idol in 2008 and once you hear him play it's pretty clear why. Gustavo has very interesting phrasing and he plays it all with effortless technique.

Um tempo atrás eu fui trocar o para-choque do meu carro e o Gustavo Guerra estava lá fazendo algum reparo também. Moramos na mesma cidade. Conversamos muito, eu já tinha ouvido falar que ele era legal e pessoalmente o cara é realmente super legal. Humilde, simpático, ofereceu um monte de material, soundtrack, partituras e outras coisas. Enfim, gente finíssima!

Gustavo is really one of the top players on RUclips, his playing is flawless, but also his recording is so clean too. He can do Yngwie, Satriani, Vai, but his originals are also as impressive as his covers. Kudos for featuring him. His covers are to die for.
Tip, i notice, how he makes it clean from riff transition and part to parts is that he add slides by his left hand and he rakes the first note on the downstroke to prevent any string noise.

I used to be contributor to a webzine called All Out Guitar and it created the Guitar Idol brand and contest so we used to view all the entries and select the final 12. Gustavo and Tom Quayle flagged up very early on in the process in 2008 but there were a lot of other players and notes to get through! Guitar Idol 2008 and 09 defo unearthed some great players. The final results will always be a contentious issue as everyone had there own fav but it provided a great platform no matter where you finished..

I’ve been a fan of Gustavo from way back when he won that guitar idol contest. The thing that blows me away the most is that it looks effortless for him cause he’s always smiling and having fun, even during the insane shredding stuff! He’s crazy good🤘

Jorge Facão tem um som tão limpo e límpido que causa aquele prazer que senti ao ouvir Satriani pelas primeiras vezes. E ele diz também que os arpeggios soam melhores e mais limpos podendo ouvir-se todas as notas nitidamente se reduzir um pouquinho a velocidade. Grande GG !
