its not controversial when it came its become controversial recently due to fake narrative by some people for personal agenda .movie shows actual reality of religion in todays time. it is hit movie.

It was hit because of aamir's stardom at the time, slowly the stardom went downhill after more and more people watched it on tv.
Forget the religion, even filmmaking wise this is rajkumar hirani's weakest film.
2nd half is absolute sh*t. Even cinema lovers will not like it TODAY!
@@VedPOP i think In India we don't have monastic religion as a majority so we don't have problem of protecting the god.we don't have any rules to follow for heaven or don't have any single supreme book. In India we always accept debate rather violence same cringe can't define India. If that the case then pathan has backklash but it is blockbuster.

This is one of the best movies made across industries... not just Indian cinema. Ideally should be an eye-opener against Blind Faith, Blind Belief & All the Religions that exist and have existed and to come into existence. Awesome movie.... much needed for the gullible masses in India and across the world, who blindly believe in the supernatural without verifying the veracity of the claims that these religions make!
Muslims can never criticise their own religion but will always tell others how to do with their religion.... He did not disgrace Allah or Christ but he really did criticise our hindu gods..... Aamir Khan proved it being a muslim.

Beside, Rajkumar Hirani is a Hindu who is the director, if you want to criticize someone, criticize him. After all its a director vision and idea to make such movie. But you know what people like you will try to seek Hindu Muslim agenda. OMG movie is more thought provoking and as per your say, OMG movie was more Hindu phobic but the most of its cast is Hindu. Now let me tell you, why PK was mostly focus on Hindu. First of all, India is Hindu majority country, that's why this movie targeted Hindu. and 2nd reason, Islam didn't allow anyone to criticize their religion and if you want to live you wouldnt dare to question. That's why no one dare to make Anti Islam movie.
In Rig Veda, it has been mentioned that we are not sure who has created us, our god didn't even sure who created them, that's why Rig Veda suggest us to question everything, it also suggest us to question even God. If our god really do exists, he will try to answer it one way or another. If you really want to protect your religion ask your surrounding to study scriptures. Banning movie and all wouldn't do anything, people will find ways to ask questions.
