3 Cups of wheat flour
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 cup of sugar
1 table spoon of Vanilla essence
1 tablespoon of butter/margarine
1 table spoon of baking powder
1/2 table spoon of baking soda
1 cup of water
Cooking oil.
Hello, I just finished making my half cakes. I managed to make 300 of them to snack over the weekend and the coming week. I must admit that I am impressed by the results. My family loves them. Thank you so much.

To baking powder

They look so yummy,i want to try this, but now I was wondering 🤔, when putting in the next pieces of dough in the oil, do you let the oil to cool first, or for the next pieces you just cook with already heated oil?
Thank you lmelda, that's a very important question. So when putting in the next pieces of dough in the oil you have to switch off your gas and let the oil cool & then using the same oil put in your dough and start increasing the heat to medium... At medium heat now cook till brown.

Are you using the measuring cups or the Normal sized tea cups?

How do I avoid the taste of baking soda in my halfcake?
Thank you so much Chris. This is a critical question.. A straight answer to your question is to use the minimum measure per cup( 120g - 150g of flour). We use the range of 1tsp - 2 1/4tsp per 4 cups of flour. Self raising flour already contain the minimum instant baking powder,so don't add.

Thanks Mwanjat...make sure your flour when you knead it is hard, your s seems to be soft...then do not put them in hot oil but slightly hot and let them Cook slowly.
