Glad to see them in the thermal game now. Always loved that green pallet. Easy on the eyes. I would like to see them change to a 18500 or 18650 battery option as they progress. Awesome to see this.
I have (or have had) several Sightmark products. Their customer service is second to none! I visited their website to learn more about this scope. It can store “five configurable weapon profiles allow it to hold multiple zeroes for different types of weapons, eliminating the need to re-zero the Wraith Mini Thermal every time it’s mounted on a different rifle.” That’s only viable if you add a QD mount to easily swap this scope between different rifles. With the mount that’s included, you’ll have to re-zero every time it’s removed. The lens cap in their 4th website image appears to somewhat block the objective lens aperture. But that lens cap looks different than the cap on the 1st and 2nd images. I’d verify that with Sightmark before buying. You don’t want anything blocking the aperture. I’d also ask then about recoil limits before putting this on any shoulder cannon. Some people don’t like the rubber eye cup. For me, I found that it blocks light coming from the eyepiece during night hunts. The last thing you want stalking in on wary pigs is the eyepiece light announcing your presence across three counties. Don’t leave this scope in your truck on a summer day. I would never do that to any night vision device, but I made the mistake of loaning one of my IR scopes to a guy who did. Ruined. 😡 I hope Sightmark’s entry to the thermal market is a success. The price is right and they back up what they sell!
The first AR that I got had a SightMark red dot and 3x magnifier and have been really impressed with it. My local gun shop owner ordered the Wraith night scope that I am going to buy when it comes in and I am trying to get him to pull the trigger on one of these too. Can’t wait to thin the coyote population on my farm in the near future.
Oh yeah, I am pumped. I just might have to get one of those. Easy to use is a big thing for me. Thanks Hans for taking the time to review this scope for me.
Finally! I knew Sightmark was gonna eventually add a nice thermal option. Looks like they used the Wraith mini to do it. For those that question Sightmark...i have several of their NV scopes and their CS has proved to be solid. As for Outdood Legacy..they are the best your ever gonna find in that department. They've earned my optics business for life.
I had my hands on one of these today for the first time. I was impressed with it. It’s nowhere near the optic my super Yoter 50 is but they are also worlds apart price wise so not a fair comparison. Seems very good option for $1999.
Hans! I’ve got a quick question for you. I plan on doing mostly coyote/ hog hunting in fields with some varmint mixed in there as well. Most shots are 100-250yards. Seems all i hear at night are those coyotes yet I have trouble getting them inside 150 with the fox pro. They get hung up near the tree line at times. My question to you is what “budget” thermal fits my needs best? I’ve been looking at: -Sightmark wraith thermal - AGM rattler ts35-384 - AGM rattler ts35-384 I definitely want to be in the 384x288+ range when it comes to clarity. Thanks in advance!
Hey Cole... those are some good choices. I would also throw in the Pulsar Talion XA38 and iRay Rico GL35. Give me a call in the office and we can discuss, 877-350-1818. Monday - Friday
I was a interested in this scope until I found out it uses CR123 batteries, even at $2,000 that is a total deal breaker for me, will never have another product that uses CR123 batteries. Don't want to buy a thermal scope and need a battery pack to make it useful in the field. Been very happy with the long run times on the two Pulsar Talion scopes I bought.
The best value thermal scope available is the Sytong PM03. Not available in the USA yet. But on paper leaves the wraith way behind on specs. 18650 vs cr123, sub 25 netd vs sub 40, wifi vs no wifi, hundreds $$ more affordable.
I love the sightmark scopes but I wish they would beef up the scope mounts, they are cheap and strip out very easy. I have a couple of these scopes and had to buy trijicon mounts for both which are like $70 each. Otherwise these scopes are awesome
It’s does record video and audio, but no wifi… Honestly, a lot of people that I talk to everyday would rather have a very basic scope. Thanks for watching!
Can you recommend a good rechargeable CR 123A? I like the thermal. I zeroed mine yesterday. I used some adhesive targets Splatterburst Targets - Roll of (200) 4 Inch. it was neat to see the heat from the holes in the paper.
So atm they have a black friday deal for 1599$ . Its this or spend 2k on a agm rattler 35. Which is a better buy? . I know the agm has a app and wifi i think thats the only real difference and maybe better glass. But i think its made in china and pretty sure the wraith thermal isnt .
Hans - I hog hunt a property where i have 200 yard max shot in most cases. I use a powerful greenlight at night with a 125 yd throw, which works (mostly) for me. My regular regret is that I have to scan with the green light, esp the treelines, and many times I have longed for a decent NV or thermal monocular to allow me to can with, but the budget math doesnt work. This seems it may meet my needs for that application. Thoughts? (I also bow hunt public land for hogs, and wondered if having an inexpensive thermal would be another tool for scanning thickets, bedding areas, etc.)
They were probably looking through monocular and then turning on scope. No 123 is gonna give you that run time. 123’s are the shittiest batteries in existence. I would highly recommend a battery pack with any scope running 123’s
@@DeepSouthPredators Hunter, I appreciate your comment and watching. We put two brand new Panasonic CR123 batteries in this scope, set it on a desk and waited for it to die. We got exactly 4 hours and 53 minutes of run time, but like I said in the video, other people might experience something different. Sightmark says 3.5 hours, we had someone else test it and they got 2 hours.
After testing both side-by-side, the picture image is very close to the rattler but with a little more magnification. There are definitely advantages and disadvantages of both! Thanks for watching Jonathan...
I appreciate you and this device. Thailand is better than China but I’d prefer to pay more and give my neighbor a job! Our economy simply does not work with this government spending more than we make and us sending money and technology to other parts of the world.
I tried to find that on their Facebook and couldn’t find it. Do you have a screenshot of it? Their daytime optics MIGHT have a lifetime warranty, I’m not sure, but their thermal definitely does not. The mini thermal comes with a 3 year warranty.
@@HansETX I was looking at one on Amazon. How much more battery life does it provide. I'm considering getting one of these. Thermals are extremely expensive but the wraith has an excellent price so if I can get significantly more battery life I'd get one for sure

What is wrong with CR123A batteries? Everything I own uses them, they work great. Very interested to hear your experience.

What’s the eye relief on this thing?
Most excellent.
Did you say the Thermal 2x is manufactured in Thailand? My earlier Wraith SM18011 was designed in Texas and manufactured in China.
Hans, being on the inside track so to speak does Sightmark have plans for a 640 optic? 🤞🤞
If so, we haven't heard of one in the works yet... Thanks for watching!
The prices for thermal scopes is nuts. There is no reason for them to coat that much.
Can you build one cheaper?
@@randallgee5026 Of course. Everyone has the equipment to build electronics in their garage. 🤔

Great Review
Thank you!
IS there any thermal scope WITHOUT WI FI and video?
Knowing sight mark hopefully they have a 3X in the works in the near future.
🤞🏻 thanks for watching Robert!
Does it look better in person than the quality in the video?
A shame in a way they don't do a basic version with no WiFi, recording etc but I guess not economical

Do they make a focus adjustment for the sightmark Wraith 4 × 32×50
does it show full color when used in day light

How does the new atn Thor 5 stack up to this?
