Yes it's the most selfish DD in the game and to be honest, WG shouldn't have added it at all, at least not as a DD. Destroyers like the ones of the new German DD line shouldn't take up DD places in the matches. They should really make a new class. A class for heavy DDs and super light cruisers, like the Smolensk and München. The class would fit nicely for current DDs that can't preform the work of DDs and if they were to add the British Dido class cruisers with 133mm guns, then they would fit nicely into this class too.
Khaba is even more useful: Khaba sets fires (thus can force a repair), pulls an extreme amout of shells away and frustrates the enemy team (given the player is good enough). Khaba also brings some uncertainty to pushing around islands, because there aren't many ships that can stop a yoloing Khaba.
I do like it tho, I play mostly alone, but yes I like it. It suits my play style very good actually. I set mine up for 15.1 km range and I ignored concealment completely and I didn't bother with the torps either. One thing I really like about it, something that Flamu didn't mentioned. Don't know if he noticed it, but it's deceleration is actually really good. I have dodged many torps just by hitting the breaks. My playstyle is staying in the open and be very unpredictable with my turns, my potential damage is usually very close to 2 mill. I do wish it had a bit better rudder shift tho. As for it's tools, or rather tool.. Defensive AA is wasted on it, it should instead have been a heal. It should also have been given a crawling smoke, like the one Perth has, instead of the one it has and it should have been given a torp reload like Tashkent, 70sec.
From roughly 30 matches that I had so far for this new german DD update, only one player was able to fully utilize F.Schultz. The rest 29 matches where I am against or with an F.Schultz was either too passive or too dumb (like suiciding as usual) or didn’t really know how to play the ship

in ye olde days, it was fun when a new line came. 80% of both teams would be the new ships on lower tiers en then u would have 2 guys completely shocked as they didn't know what was going on and u would have 1 or 2 sealclubbers in a perfect counter for that tier against the new ships. that was fun. nowadays it's moneyripping.....
I don`t think ye olde ways would work today, considering the CV population at low Tier everyone would skip those Tiers regardless. So WG can just roll them out with this Lootbox Gambling and make more money
I would put it in the same class of DD as Haragumo, it's an ocean going destroyer meant as an escort/support vessel for battle group operations. Haragumo was designed to sail with carriers. It is a large DD to make it a stable gun platform for the open ocean. Schultz is large too, it has a wide and long hull for the same purpose, but has 150mm guns instead meant to deal with cruisers, the same way as some Russian cruisers were refitted to carry 180mm guns to be able to fight heavy and battle cruisers. Smolensk is a very small cruiser, it was designed as an AA support ship.

He never said that the he dpm of the felix was tier 1, the tier 7's he dpm is, but i do get your point. Shiratsuyu dpm is still trash, and yugumos and shimas will be happy to see a ship they can actually out-dpm thats not like a legendary module kleber or a lower tier ship.
He knows his playerbase very well, so he knows how to play around them. But seriously if he had been focused by even one ship, this would have been a disaster battle. And in general, players never want to shoot DD's far away because they get tired of not hitting a single shot. I also noticed similar things in my games after I improved my gameplay.

Sometimes your ship just randomly explodes, but other than that, british CN's are actually my favorite ships in the game (well some of em). Especially the Minotaur is certainly worth the grind. Full smoke meme-boat or radar scumbag, shes got quite a bunch of options that are actually fun to play.
Speaking of DDs, I have run into the HMS Druid in the game recently and I still cannot believe how WG pushed something so OP into the game. Especially with Elbing releasing at the same time LMAO.

These are just what the term "spähkreuzer" would imply. They're light cruisers without a citadel. Theres only one line in the game without a exploitable citadel, "guess we'll make it a DD".
WG: sees DD battle effectiveness going down below where they want it WG: ignores CVs which nukes DDs in the first 2 minutes of gameplay, and makes every new ship other than CVs, totally unable to combat DDs.

It is very weird that WG continues to dog pile endless responsibilities onto the DD class and then produces a number of DD's which cannot fulfill any of them.
Schultz is very difficult to play. Its biggest weakness is its mobility. Its second biggest weakness is fire rate. Both can be reduced but will not be enough to allow the ship to confidently compete with other destroyers in close quarters ( cq < detection range). This ship's primary role is to hunt bs and cruisers from unsuspecting and strategic locations. The ship's biggest strength is its range and accuracy with upgrades the ship's guns can shoot just slightly below 17.5kms which is incredibly impressive for a destroyer. Its torpedoes are terribly inaccurate due to their slow speed ~55 kn w/o any upgrade. It has a range of ~12km. This means the torpedoes can only be deployed in two ways: 1. Targeting high traffic areas that are usually quite far away where targets likely do not suspect. 2. For a final stand at point blank range against bbs. In other words, the torpedoes suggested guidance indicator is nearly useless.
I've seen five of these in Ranked. Three on my teams, two on enemy teams. Whatever team they were on, they lost. They died or lost most of their HP when they tried to snatch a cap, did minimal damage, and only once did one come third from the bottom; he was on a CC account.

I've always wondered why WG decided to present this particular part of plan Z ... the highly specialized role these ships were designed for barely existed in real life, let alone in this game
Not following WGs newer ship development, my first thought when I saw that ship was : is that a German CL? And it turns out appearances don't deceive in this case XD
Well, this is based on the Z-Plan Spähkreuzer design... which literally translates to "Scout Cruiser". A lot of factors that are important in real life naval design have no meaning in WoWS, like the range and seakeeping abilities. Characteristics like how much water the ship takes on the bow during bad weather, the maximum sustained speed in bad weather... if you are familiar with the history of the Scharnhorst, she was alone at the Battle of the North Cape because the Destroyers escorting her(Tier VII or VIII Destroyers of the first line in WoWS) could not keep up in the bad weather. The Spähkreuzer was designed to be a long range scout and picket ship for the envisioned raid fleets. Thus, they needed to be able to keep up with, and even exceed the speed in bad weather of the larger ships they were scouting for. The massive size is a result of the need for large fuel tanks and a stable ship in the often bad weather of the Atlantic. So, that was it's theoretical purpose. The "Raid Fleets" of Plan Z would also have included: - M Project -class CL's, which is the Tier VII München in WoWS, - P-Project -class CA's with 11" guns, follow up designs to the Deutschland class "pocket BB's"(those aren't in WoWS...yet), - O-Project -class Battlecruisers... *actual* Battlecruisers, having only CA strength Armor Protection but with 6x15" guns in 3 dual turrets... which is the Tier IX premium supercruiser Siegfried in WoWS. ;) The H-class Battleships and Graf Zeppelin -class Carriers would also belong to such a "Raid Fleet". How exactly all that would have worked is...debatable.

Not quite, it's a german light cruiser sized DD without any of the goodies and special consumables that make certain other DD lines competitive or at least workable. In reality, this design was envisioned as a scout and picket ship for long range german raider fleets... thus the name of the design that this WoWS Tier X was based on: "Spähkreuzer" - literally "Scout Cruiser" Most of the earlier german DD classes had problems maintaining speed during the often bad weather in the North Atlantic, as well as teething problems with their *Very* High Pressure machinery, very often they couldn't actually fulfill an assigned escort role because their sustained speed was reduced to HALF of their designed spee. And their range was just way too short for a high seas raider as well. The Spähkreuzer design used Diesel engines for propulsion, and the size comes from the need for large amounts of fuel and a stable ship in bad weather conditions. But those are concerns that are completely irrelevant in WoWS, so... we get this. The 1938 revision of the design even had an actual scout plane hangar with space for 2 planes... imagine that, a Tier X DD with a Scout Plane consumable. xD
it has german smoke ....which is even worse then german HE. So it's basically a cruiser without a citadel, shit concealment, no AA, no gun power, no torpedo power and no utility.
So much this. I've had almost all amazing games from a personal stat standpoint, but a pretty terrible win rate because I'm depriving my team of a DD. I think it might shine best in a division with a strong cap contesting DD or a good radar cruiser to help offset it's problems.
Agree on your analysis about strengh and weakness of this DD. I think good team and good player can find its function in divisions, good results though. Kudos flamu.
We wanted the old secondaries on the German BB's back. And not crap lines, which noone will grind, because they are utter trash. We wanted a fast secondary 2nd US BB line, but instead we got the McDonalds ships, which are slow and camp in the back, while they reload once every ice age. We did not want OP Soviet fantasy ships which WG designed in a drunken haze, aka Soviet BB's and CA's. We did not want the skill rework, which was a total desaster besides being another blatant money grab from WG. And we absolutely did not need the plane factories, which do not burn, can not get citadelled and have planes which can not get shot down, because WG in all their wisdom decided to nerf the original AA ships into the ground. Basically we wanted WOWS from before the CV rework, when the game still was fun.
These were supposed to be AP cruiser killers, so WG could have at least given them the main gun reload from the ZF-6. Speaking of which, that will probably the only ship from the new German DDs that will end up getting.

Oh no, ITA bbs definitely have a "role". They're quite consistent with dmg, I see YTs getting consistent 100k games on it, and they're really good if you can brawl (ofc they suck if you can't, but hey I never said they were good). BUT THIS, THIS, now this does not have a role. It just doesn't. Like to the point where it's not a DD.

But for this german line you automatically waste one slot on dd, it is selfish line which highly depend on team (image 4 dds and 3 dead left only yourself in this line....)

I like how WG has made the only ship in this recent line that is actually able to be a useful cap contester the ZF-6, the premium. Remember when Jingles joked about WG monetizing teamplay? They legtimately do this now, you have to pay for the tools that allow you to teamplay.
they should have just split the numberg instead and call these ships light cruisers. although not having a citadel is nice. and I guess they though hydro was to dangerous for cruisers in smokes, but I fully agree with giving them at least a 3km hydro.
It looks OK-ish but it does need something else to it, whether it be hydro, faster torps or possibly a heal. I'd have thought with a dd so heavily focused on its AP they would consider short fuse AP providing consistent pen vs other dds and cruiser plating. Giving it a low AP dpm but consistent damage kind of feel to it.
Every ranked battle (bronce league) i did, always seen someone with this "DD" running away when my situacional squad push them away from caps, includes me using Friesland fully daka daka
I'm convinced the ship design team at WG totally missed the CV/AA rework and think Def AA is a great tool because of the Air panic effect (that it no longer has).
At 9.:25 that Smolensk would already be history while shooting AP with reload booster in a Fantasque. That new lime is indeed garbage.ZF-6 is the only new one you can state its more or less good.
Why didn't they just make them cruisers so that they didn't break MM by having it take up a DD slot without being able to perform the DD role? Or give it something unique to the DD role...
I just got through the grind on this awful ship. It is feast or famine. Mostly famine. If you don't land any torps you don't do squat for damage. If you don't get Tier VII/VIII/IX light cruisers to shoot at, you don't get citadels and therefor get little damage. I'm a potato player (48% overall WR with a 950 PR), but I somehow managed in this thing a 57% WR over 28 games but only averaged 36k in damage. You definitely cannot play it like a DD.

Entire enemy team actually ignored Flamu in his Schultz for the first 10 minutes of the game. I guess they did not consider it much of a threat.

Druid is a 1951 super-light cruiser design. 4000 tonnes. Should be Tier XI

I've seen five of these in Ranked. Three on my teams, two on enemy teams. Whatever team they were on, they lost. They died or lost most of their HP when they tried to snatch a cap, did minimal damage, and only once did one come third from the bottom; he was on a CC account.

I've always wondered why WG decided to present this particular part of plan Z ... the highly specialized role these ships were designed for barely existed in real life, let alone in this game
Not following WGs newer ship development, my first thought when I saw that ship was : is that a German CL? And it turns out appearances don't deceive in this case XD
Well, this is based on the Z-Plan Spähkreuzer design... which literally translates to "Scout Cruiser". A lot of factors that are important in real life naval design have no meaning in WoWS, like the range and seakeeping abilities. Characteristics like how much water the ship takes on the bow during bad weather, the maximum sustained speed in bad weather... if you are familiar with the history of the Scharnhorst, she was alone at the Battle of the North Cape because the Destroyers escorting her(Tier VII or VIII Destroyers of the first line in WoWS) could not keep up in the bad weather.
The Spähkreuzer was designed to be a long range scout and picket ship for the envisioned raid fleets. Thus, they needed to be able to keep up with, and even exceed the speed in bad weather of the larger ships they were scouting for. The massive size is a result of the need for large fuel tanks and a stable ship in the often bad weather of the Atlantic.
So, that was it's theoretical purpose. The "Raid Fleets" of Plan Z would also have included:
- M Project -class CL's, which is the Tier VII München in WoWS,
- P-Project -class CA's with 11" guns, follow up designs to the Deutschland class "pocket BB's"(those aren't in WoWS...yet),
- O-Project -class Battlecruisers... *actual* Battlecruisers, having only CA strength Armor Protection but with 6x15" guns in 3 dual turrets... which is the Tier IX premium supercruiser Siegfried in WoWS. ;)
The H-class Battleships and Graf Zeppelin -class Carriers would also belong to such a "Raid Fleet". How exactly all that would have worked is...debatable.
@@sd501st5 they have definitely power creeped speed. It's a 37 knot ship with is blazing fast irl. But is somehow bottome tier slow in the game.

Not quite, it's a german light cruiser sized DD without any of the goodies and special consumables that make certain other DD lines competitive or at least workable.
In reality, this design was envisioned as a scout and picket ship for long range german raider fleets... thus the name of the design that this WoWS Tier X was based on: "Spähkreuzer" - literally "Scout Cruiser"
Most of the earlier german DD classes had problems maintaining speed during the often bad weather in the North Atlantic, as well as teething problems with their *Very* High Pressure machinery, very often they couldn't actually fulfill an assigned escort role because their sustained speed was reduced to HALF of their designed spee. And their range was just way too short for a high seas raider as well.
The Spähkreuzer design used Diesel engines for propulsion, and the size comes from the need for large amounts of fuel and a stable ship in bad weather conditions. But those are concerns that are completely irrelevant in WoWS, so... we get this. The 1938 revision of the design even had an actual scout plane hangar with space for 2 planes... imagine that, a Tier X DD with a Scout Plane consumable. xD
it has german smoke ....which is even worse then german HE. So it's basically a cruiser without a citadel, shit concealment, no AA, no gun power, no torpedo power and no utility.
So much this. I've had almost all amazing games from a personal stat standpoint, but a pretty terrible win rate because I'm depriving my team of a DD. I think it might shine best in a division with a strong cap contesting DD or a good radar cruiser to help offset it's problems.
The thing is anything is good in a div because even if it is bad the other ships can make up for it

We wanted german bb split, not a damage pinata with tier 1 dpm
We wanted the old secondaries on the German BB's back. And not crap lines, which noone will grind, because they are utter trash. We wanted a fast secondary 2nd US BB line, but instead we got the McDonalds ships, which are slow and camp in the back, while they reload once every ice age. We did not want OP Soviet fantasy ships which WG designed in a drunken haze, aka Soviet BB's and CA's. We did not want the skill rework, which was a total desaster besides being another blatant money grab from WG. And we absolutely did not need the plane factories, which do not burn, can not get citadelled and have planes which can not get shot down, because WG in all their wisdom decided to nerf the original AA ships into the ground. Basically we wanted WOWS from before the CV rework, when the game still was fun.
you do not want that, coz you will get crap line that is only exist for sh1t premiums

Well, it kinda adds a diversity of play. When i unlock these, i wont necessarily play them all the time, but play them for a change of pace and style

These were supposed to be AP cruiser killers, so WG could have at least given them the main gun reload from the ZF-6. Speaking of which, that will probably the only ship from the new German DDs that will end up getting.

Oh no, ITA bbs definitely have a "role". They're quite consistent with dmg, I see YTs getting consistent 100k games on it, and they're really good if you can brawl (ofc they suck if you can't, but hey I never said they were good). BUT THIS, THIS, now this does not have a role. It just doesn't. Like to the point where it's not a DD.

@@linustehminus I don't think it will change much, accuracy and range will always be problem to ply Ita bbs, but at least ITA bb still fits their role which could tank and potentially blap other ships pray for god tier dispersion land. But for this german line you automatically waste one slot on dd, it is selfish line which highly depend on team (image 4 dds and 3 dead left only yourself in this line....)

Hydro, a bit of reload, and/or a creeping smokescreen would go a long way to help these. Though I don't particularly hate the Schultz .

I like how WG has made the only ship in this recent line that is actually able to be a useful cap contester the ZF-6, the premium. Remember when Jingles joked about WG monetizing teamplay? They legtimately do this now, you have to pay for the tools that allow you to teamplay.
they should have just split the numberg instead and call these ships light cruisers. although not having a citadel is nice. and I guess they though hydro was to dangerous for cruisers in smokes, but I fully agree with giving them at least a 3km hydro.
It looks OK-ish but it does need something else to it, whether it be hydro, faster torps or possibly a heal. I'd have thought with a dd so heavily focused on its AP they would consider short fuse AP providing consistent pen vs other dds and cruiser plating. Giving it a low AP dpm but consistent damage kind of feel to it.
Every ranked battle (bronce league) i did, always seen someone with this "DD" running away when my situacional squad push them away from caps, includes me using Friesland fully daka daka

It's a really bad light cruiser that trades all gimmicks and any destroyer hunting against "losing" his citadel and being "tanky" through that.

I just got through the grind on this awful ship. It is feast or famine. Mostly famine. If you don't land any torps you don't do squat for damage. If you don't get Tier VII/VIII/IX light cruisers to shoot at, you don't get citadels and therefor get little damage. I'm a potato player (48% overall WR with a 950 PR), but I somehow managed in this thing a 57% WR over 28 games but only averaged 36k in damage. You definitely cannot play it like a DD.
