I get an error when trying to add an indexer. "Unable to connect to indexer, please check your DNS settings and ensure IPv6 is working or disabled. The SSL connection could not be established" Any ideas how to fix?
I noticed you usually choose the non-official repository when downloading from the community apps. Can you explain (for a noob) why somebody might prefer that route? My default assumption is that the “official” repo is more updated with new features, more stable & secure, etc. I guess I don’t understand the fundamental difference between the multiple options of the same app. Thanks! And Merry Christmas!
Very informative and helpful, thanks. I tested the ability of Prowlarr to fully sync indexers with Sonarr. After deleting the existing indexers in Sonarr and selecting "Sync App Indexers" in Prowlarr with Full Sync set for the Sonarr app, 13 of 15 Prowlarr torrent indexers appeared in Sonarr with (Prowlarr) appended to their names. Can't quite figure out why the other two are missing. I could add them back in manually but I'm trying to get away from Jackett.
King? I just checked out Prowlarr and find it still inferior to NZBHydra2. For instance: - Hydra2 can detect api limits from an indexer during setup. - The search by category (movie/tv) on hydra2 also auto-pulls ids, while Prowlarr requires you to manually supply them. - The integration with SAB is also tighter in Hydra2. The only advantage I see with Prowlarr is that it uses a couple gb less ram as compared to Hydra2 and Jackett combined.
I have been playing with linux for years, but never do it enough to remember how to do what I need to do, only enough to do something stupid. I have had my plex server, very vanilla plex install, and have been doing ALL OF THIS manually for probably about a year now. I discovered all of this a couple days ago and have been getting it all setup, and up until I found your video, it was a bit challenging. Everybody online goes on random tangents about it, but no simple, to the point, short and sweet but yet moderatly detailed explanation on how to get it setup. Well, YOU DID! I love your video, and I like VERY FEW VIDEOS but due to how much it helped me and how much I appreciate it, I wanted to send you a like and drop you a comment, hoping this video finds other linux noobs like me. Thank you very much for your video, and I will be going to your RUclips channel now to see if there is any other videos that will help me get the rest of the tools installed and running. I have many, and cant wait to get it all going. Thanks again for the video, it helped immensely!
11:49 make sure you check the forums for your index for info on Prowlarr. I did not check the "redirect" box and got an API ban the same day. I have to click the redirect box for both my indexers.
is there any advantage of delegating the downloader in prowlarr and disable it from sonarr radar lidar? right now my atomic moves and hardlinks are working fine. will it be broken if i delegate prowlarr to nzb and qbitorrent?
Great video! I just found your channel and I see a whole lot more videos I want to watch. Keep up the high quality and I am sure this channel will explode.
I started using Prowlarr instead of Jackett and it is so much faster. The setup is also so much more streamlined, it just doesn't work properly with Download Station yet.
Great video. Thanks. I did install directly to my Linux server. But, prowlarr does. Or show any indexers available to add! Why is that and how to fix it? Didn’t find any documentation helping. Thanks.
Great video ibra. One thing that I'd suggest is increase the font on your computer. It's been hard to follow when I'm watching on my phone. Thanks for your help
As usual great video. But if I am honest, I cant see the benefit of this app, if Radarr and Sonarr are already correctly setup, what does this app offer being in the middle of it all? Am I missing something?
I'm not sure what you mean mate? This is a companion to those apps, ad they rely on indexers to search for content. Which is what this offers It also allows you to have both torrent and Nzb under one roof, while also not needing to be set up in each 'arr application manually. One place to manage your indexers
Yeah, I do get it .. but there’s something missing - so, in radarr I have an preconfigured indexer setting - or I use a torznab from jackett - so I now use prowlarr, great, I can manually search, and it’s great because it’s searching a tracker that would never work with jackett in the past, but then I remove the preconfigured indexer from radarr, and now I don’t have and indexers listed in radarr, despite configuring prowlarr. Where is the link between prowlarr and radarr. ETS: You forgot to mention you need to press “sync app indexers” on the applications tab
@@IBRACORP it doesn’t always need to be pressed - i removed the application tab, rebuilt it, placing my IP address and save - bingo - it syncs itself - pretty darn cool - way better than jackett when they get all the indexers on it.
@@SunsparcSolaris I'm confused. I thought Prowlarr would connect to Radarr and such. When I try to setup Prowlarr on Radarr, I get an error that Radarr can't locate it

If you have 10 indexers, a search through Radarr will have NZBHydra2 search all 10 indexers. Just followed your guide and it seems like prowlarr will only search the first 1 or 2 indexers. Any way to force it to scan all available indexers by default? (yes you can do it manually)
Hey there, Ibra! Just wanted to say a massive thank you for all of your guides and tutorials. You have showcased some wonderful self-hosted applications and have made choosing my homelab services an enjoyable experience. It is MOST appreciated 😎👍 Any plans on covering kubernetes?
Quick question on this. Just set it up now. If I go and remove all my indexers from Sonarr and Radarr it will still fully function and then just manage all my indexers from here instead of each individual app? Just on a test server at the moment, first time with unraid and your channel has solely got me in love with it. Building it out properly soon once my trial runs out. Just want to understand my full use case and write down my errors and process for when I do it properly I can have it done in a day first time.
That's correct Simon. Prowlarr is where you add and remove indexers and it tell it how to sync to Sonarr, Radarr and Lidarr. No need to put them in the 'arrs yourself
@@IBRACORP thanks mate! Honestly spent 3/4 solid on Unraid! Can’t get enough! Time to set it all up again when I build a new server and pay! Still, this learning part on a test machine and trial is the fun part!

would like to add a note for anyone doing a fresh install of all the *arrs, if the test fails when adding the download client it is cuz the host needs to be the IP of the container 172.19.x.x not the local IP, hostname, nor container name like in other forms
This isn't necessarily to true, if they are on the same custom docker network you can refer to it's container name and port. But a good tip still thanks for sharing!

great video as always. i was using jacket before discovering this? should i migrate to prowlarr and ditch jacket? can i use them both at the same time? what are your thoughts?
I use both, easy enough to setup 2 containers and not much extra in the way of resources(jacket container size is less than half that of Prowlarr as under 110mb). The main reason i have 2 is because Prowlarr fails with some indexers from time to time. Audiobookbay for instance is currently unsearchable using prowlarr(even with flarsolverr) and has been for over a week but jackett is fine with it. This way i have a backup indexer for when one fails. EDIT: to be clear though i only use Jackett as a backup service now. Prowlarr is far, far better at centralising management of indexers. I mean its not even close.
Can I start downloads from within Prowlarr? Or only search? And if I can start downloads, how do I indicate which app (Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr) should handle the files when they're done downloading?
