@@Changetheling Have you looked into it? I wonder if maybe its akin to like Bruce Falconner effect he had in Dragon Ball Z of that same era...So amazing the work he did on it for the time. Maybe there is somebody overlooked, who did the same type of thing for KI maybe a Sound Producer. Like clearly the Arcade units were much more robust so had a higher capability which the developers of KI took full advantage of in subtle ways, like additional visual effects with hovering ice around glacius and bats in arcade KI 1 in the wolf castle at the start of the fight to name a few.

I'll probably buy an arcade version eventually if i can ever afford it.

I only played SNES version of KI, as its all i could afford. Its funny because i recently downloaded the KI soundtrack and had it running randomly one time my sister came by to drop off a package for me, and she was like "wait, what is is that? it seems familiar" (^///^) She would play Orchid and I would play Cinder, Spinal, Fulgore (because I liked the teleporting nature of the characters). But i gotta say, looking at Glacius... i had to rewind to look at how good that Liquidize uppercut looks at 3:33 in the KI2 Arcade version. He rematerializes and for a second it almost looked like it was 60fps.
The SNES version of him is consistently more badass than all the rest! That game was so much darker than the newer ones. It's weird how they nailed the game back then and even with today's technology aren't able to top it. Then perhaps I'm biased since I played the SNES version as a kid. (Edit: The frozen glass effect in the newest game looks awesome af though)
The version of Killer Instinct I use to play in the 90s had Glacius' Liquid Uppercut turn his whole body into one giant fist (I think it even delivered 3 uppercuts in a row). Anyone remember which version of Killer Instinct that was?
Killer Instinct Arcade has best Glacius design no doubt. Looks so masculine, menacing, scary. In upcoming versions he looks so estrogenic. Its completely different character.
In Killer Instinct SNES and Arcade, Glacius has 5 fingers. In Killer Instinct Gold N64 and Killer Instinct 2 Arcade, Glacius has 3 fingers. In the newest Killer Instinct for PC and Xbox One, Glacius has 4 fingers. I wonder, are they all different Glacius's or are they the same one from the first game? For some reason every time I play Killer Instinct with Glacius it makes me wonder.
Him calling ice from the ground in his ultra is a nice improvement, more distinctive than the transforming of the hands as a core ultra feature (though that was nice too (and is also on the new one)). The new design is atrocious, though, the retro skin's much better.

No, son el mismo juego. En uno utilizo el skin clásico con su ultra "básico", más parecido al original. En el otro uso el skin nuevo y un ultra con las posibilidades que da esta nueva versión del juego. ;)

El primer movimiento y el segundo para encadenar el ultra se hacen manual, una vez hecho, el ultra es una sucesión de golpes automáticos, no se si es a eso a lo que te refieres...
Son skins bro puedes usar el retiro y el nuevo y otros aspectos y es mejor el nuevo q los anteriores en cuánto a título de pelea competitivo se refiere, dejando de lado la nostalgia que solo arruida a la industria como le pasó a este título.

Maybe there is somebody overlooked, who did the same type of thing for KI maybe a Sound Producer. En general los temas antiguos era mas originales, los de ahora hay algunos que se siguen pareciendo pero suenan con un sonido más moderno.
