    I like the honesty in your videos. So I haven't been using the 240 lately, but here a few things I can relate to. The hardwood to low profile carpet can be an issue. I have experienced the robot making it on to the carpet. I did try the invisible No Go Line, but I have about 90% suscesful rate. I find in small open areas the robot does fine. If you introduce furniture than sometimes the robot struggles and easily gets lost. Lastly angular walls sometimes confuse the robot too. Have you had any issues with pairing to your phone, some users say the robot fails to connect. Thanks again Jamie for the information video!!!

      No issues pairing, but using bluetooth to pair is not the best connection method for all people. I don't have any angular walls in my house. I appreciate your kind words!

    I have a small house with a small bathroom , and I am a senior with mobility issues. I have a claw foot tub and a big sink base on legs , very hard for me to clean under . This little guy does the job! It navigates around the claw feet , and along the wall . I had been thinking of hiring a cleaning service to do my bathroom , but I don't need to now. I think of all the money this will save me , and my bathroom will always be clean! Love it!!!!

    Had mine for over two years and I must say, I love it. All tile flooring, about 1100 total square living space, I can target specific rooms or sections of the house using the ‘invisible barrier’, or I can put a sweeping pad and let it go. Still have the original battery and in dry sweep mode, it can cover almost the entire house. I have two cats and also vacuum and mop on a regular basis, but this helps maintain between those ‘deep’ cleanings. It works perfect for me.

    I use it for my smaller floors and "yes" my bathroom. I have bought the useable pads and they work great. I bought a net divider and that's how I wash the reusable pads in the washer. I do throw in a small amount of cleaning mixture along with mostly water and it does the trick. I do get some hair crawled up in the wheels, but I just untangle them out. I bought an extra battery so I don't have to wait for the 2 hour charge and so far it's made me happy and satisfied for a couple of years now. To prevent any smell in the water reservoir I empty out the excess water mixture and turn it upside down to drain.

    Have had mine for almost 6 months. Works well for my small sized kitchen and bathroom. My house is mostly carpet. I got the reusable pads. I sprinkle Comet on the floor after filling the tank with water. If I tilt the machine like I fill it, I get a little over a cup in there.

    Yes I agree with everything you said. I have all the same problems that you mentioned with large spaces. It gets lost and gives up, as you called it. Because it cleans in a random pattern, I never know where to restart it. It IS more work than just mopping myself and the dog hates it. You were spot on. I wish I had seen this review before I bought my Braava 240 for my all hardwood floor home.

      Sorry to hear that. I suggest looking at a robot with smart navigation.

    Thanks for the review! I have owned the Braava Jet only about 3 weeks and pretty much agree with all you said. I purchased it because I tend to get my floors too wet when I mop and then drying them is too much of an effort with towels etc. I found the Braava Jet to clean better than I do but it takes 'FOREVER' and then I find the floor still needing some drying. I think the issue is what you spoke of saying that it is more effective for small rooms rather than larger. I do like gadgets :-) and think this will be helpful in my bathrooms and maybe smaller areas of my kitchen. I didn't know about the "walls" feature so I just rolled up large "dog cleaning" towels and made a barrier that worked pretty well. I have vinyl plank flooring. I sprayed vinegar on the floor for extra cleaning but I might try your idea of spraying the re-usable pad instead. The floors still stay too wet using my spray the floor method so hopefully this change will help.

    We are 2 older retired people. We have an iRobot 960 that vacuums for us and then just got this little guy to do the mopping. Because we're here a lot of the time and this one isn't very loud we don't mind the babysitting issues so much. It suits our needs just fine. However I don't think it would be adequate for a family with kids and pets.

      I agree. The M6 is better for larger houses.

    Thanks for the great review. I got my Braava240 a few days ago, I only use it for my bedroom which is a big one and I see some navigational problems. But gets the job done. I was surprised though when I first tried the damp mopping pads that came in the package and the robot would give me an error (2 tones+3 beeps = no mopping pad found). I got 2 disposable mopping pads for each type, and both damp mopping pads had the same issue. I haven't tried yet the disposable wet mopping pads or the dry dusting pads. After giving it a bit of thought I tried to mark the holes on the pad's readable card with a black pen and it worked. Apparently iRobot did not mark the disposable pads dark enough behind the card which led the robot to not recognize the pad. I was wondering if anyone else faced the same issue, which I find really bad as I wouldn't expect the original manufacturers to be saving on ink when making the pads...

      I have not had that issue at all. Glad you enjoyed my review.

    I've also had navigation issues. Mine has been troublesome on tiles and especially in the corners, it will get a little stuck trying to get out of the corner and it's wheels will slip a bit on the damp tiles. Once it gets out of the corner it's internal map seems to be skewed. It will start crossing the no go line on one end and while not going anywhere near the other end. It will also possibly avoid an uncleaned part of room afterwards too. I think it's probably tracking it's orientation and position on the map it builds up from the wheel rotation and when the wheels slip it thinks it has turned and it's not smart enough to reorient based on the walls afterwards. It's cleaning performance fine. It's just let down a bit by the poor navigation.

    • @jamie.andrews
      @jamie.andrews  4 года назад

      Yea I have experienced this too. I helped it some by turning the water flow down. I have a M6 with camera based navigation that I am about to start testing. Stay tuned!

    ive just bought one, im a skinflint haha i got mine for £80? (110 dollars) as a wheelchair user my floors are all altrofloor (near indestructable plastic stuff. tougher than linolieum) tiles and vinyl floor. i dont like battling with my steamer in my chair, dragging wheel marks around damp floors, its a pain. my hope is to run them (i ordered 2 ) whilst im om the school run which takes a good 2 hours, we also have 2 robot vaccums on the way which ive told myself will run whilst we sleep to get the pet hair up and just generally help me keep on top the floors. she says.... so im looking at reviews for any tips, thanks for the one about the reuseable pads, actually found them here in the uk too! time will tell if they help, but i do like the idea of lessening the tumblefurballs we get everywhere. When they say pomskies blow their coats twice a year, they forgot to say for 6 months at a time! ace review and really helpful, thankyou!

    I like my little mop. I had the i7 mop but the tank started to leak and ruined it.. so now I use only my 240 mop. It works great for my tile floors and my carpet is high enough it does not venture onto the carpet areas. It is perfect for my barhrooms.. I just pick it up and put it in the kitchen/utility rooms or in one of my two bathrooms. It gets around toilet. I use the reusable pads which works well. If i see a spit in kitchen that might need help I spray an all purpose cleaner on my tile. I would buy it again.

    Hello! thank you for your very thorough review. I live in a small apartment and is ideal. However, I live in Argentina, and can't get the pads very easily, and also, as you say, they are expensive (even more here). Also I am having problems with the Braava. It does not work and throws an error of the battery overheating. Still not sure. Perhaps is that I tried to use the pads too many times. But the Braava seems to be stopped and unable to move forward and I hear the motor inside still trying to push it. I am looking for a solution. I will try to look more into your channel. Thank you!

    • @jamie.andrews
      @jamie.andrews  4 года назад +1

      I would first try and replace the battery. I doubt the pads have anything to do with it. Good luck and keep me posted!

    • @tannisroot
      @tannisroot 4 года назад

      The heat comes from the vibrating heads I believe. Perhaps the pads are getting too hard to move for the robot since you've been reusing the ones that come with it. I would highly recommend getting some from AliExpress. It will get to you from China in about a month. Here are the ones I ordered: a.aliexpress.ru/_eMyJa2
      What's good about them is that they have hard nylon fibers embedded into them, like with the original reusable pad, and unlike the original the plastic holder is attached with velcro meaning you can properly wash it in a washing machine not worrying about the plastic thing getting crushed.
