Yeah, I think it was a local channel, I think it was before there was one specifically aimed at teens. Must be why I didn't know this was a Nickelodeon production.
I watched ICarly, Drake and Josh, and Victorious a lot as a little kid, but only because it's what my older cousins watched when they visited. I felt so mature watching shows that weren't animated.
Ehh I was obsessed with the cartoons as a preteen, I actually hated the live action shows until iCarly debuted. Then shows like that, Drake and Josh, and Victorious all of a sudden became my favorite. I guess it comes with age, huh?
I was only like 6 or 7 when watching teenick, but I still specifically remember there were a bunch of acne treatment cream commercials and commercials for ringtones that played during that block. It made me feel so hip
AHAHA oh my god I remember those. I would always have TeenNick playing in middle school when I was sick (which was a lot) and I still remember those ringtones. Education Connection also played a lot.
The All That reboot got way more than 8 episodes and it actually never officially got cancelled. The COVID-19 pandemic caused production to be suspended after the show was renewed for another season and production sadly just never resumed. This could be because Kenan & Kel (executive producers of the reboot) were busy with Good Burger 2 and the cast of kids have also been busy with other projects. Hopefully it comes back but we'll see
I know this is from your prospective but it’s hilarious how all the “white shows” get whole play by play commentary and the minority shows are like, “yeah it aired, aaannndd alright moving on” AMAANDDAAA SHOOWWWW!!!!!! YEEESSS
No, those shows just weren’t that iconic. I don’t think it has anything to do with race. That’s So Raven, for example, is arguably Disneys biggest hit after Hannah Montana. Because it was really good. People like to bring up True Jackson VP or Tiana and pretend like those shows were as iconic as iCarly or Victorious. I need y’all to be serious
I really liked the Brothers Garcia, it's a shame it has been forgotten. Rewatching it here on YT and I think for me the show holds up really well as it's not over the top and has lessons every end of an episode. Also I would say that the show has heart. I started rewatching as I read that it was actually revived around 2022 or 2023 but was eventually cancelled. While I loved the original run when I was young I get why the revival did not do well as I said I feel like this is one of those forgotten nick shows.
Nick cannon is pretty popular for having a music career in the past that is joked about a lot on his current popular show Wild N Out on VH1 I think and he was also in a lot of popular movies like Drumline, Love Don’t Cost A Thing, Roll Bounce, etc
Moody's Point was actually going to be another Show, and was on Amanda Show to see how audiences reacted, and wasnt going to end in a cliffhanger. But Amanda Show ended, and decided not to do the show (Sorry for so many comments, making these comments as i'm watching this video for the first time)
I actually enjoyed it while it was airing and then there were never any new episodes (it even got me wondering about the original all that where I would watch clips on RUclips and try to catch reruns on teennick lol)
Dude, no one ever talks about "Shelby Woo." I had a love-hate with that show. One, it was nice to see a show starring an Asian lead aimed at mystery solving for an older audience, similar to "GhostWriter...," but on the other hand... it was so hard to get through at times, lol. But also, "Snick" is the legacy, "TeenNick" was the follow-up that gained its own channel that was headed by Nick Cannon for a while. It merged with "Noggin" and was most known for airing a bunch of shows like "Degrassi" aimed specifically at teenagers.
Oh, and as far as who Nick Cannon is, he was the host of an improv comedy show on MTV called "Wild n' Out" in the '00s, which was like a hip-hop "Who's Line is It Anyway?" Okay, so there used to be a channel called "MTV" which stood for "Music television," and they would play music videos, just like the kind you see here on RUclips, but, like on TV.
Suprised you didn’t mention this, but being a 2000’s kid myself, It gave me the opportunity to grow up with Hey Arnold!, Rugrats and the other classic Nicktoons. They’d usually rerun really late, but It’s pretty cool to of genuinely grew up with them instead of finding them later in life! Also, any one remember the creepy Anti-Smoking commercials that’d always air on this channel??
I had the same experience as you, and yes, I remember those anti smoking commercials by Truth Orange being played during pretty much every commercial break (that, and also some commercials for Maybelline and Proactiv).
I miss NickRewind. I really loved watching Fanboy & Chum Chum, Back at the Barnyard, CatDog, Angry Beavers, ChalkZone and Danny Phantom all the time on that block.
i was with you til h2o, i LOVED that show and have rewatched as a teen and adult multiple times and still love it, i know a ton of people who still have nostalgia for it :/ its at least on the level of the other better teennick shows
Nick cannon used to be a side character in alot of 90s nick shows then he became a full time actor in movies and since the 2000s he is the host of wild n out💀
It's a shame that Alex Mack is so hard to find. It was one of my favorites. Most of the drama of the show revolved around the fact that a CIA-like government agency was always after Alex, because they knew she got covered in the chemical, had some kind of powers because of it, and were stalking her.
Degrassi was not made by nick or on teen nick until much later. It was airing on CTV in Canada and airing on also in the USA under The N umbrella… which stands for Noggin. Also, a separate channel from Nick.
@@pleaseshutup7053 he covered H20 becasue it was apart of teennick block on Nickelodeon. Where Degrassi was only on TeenNick when it became its own channel.
@@pleaseshutup7053 the difference was that the first season of H2O was aired on the regular Nickelodeon channel before being moved to the Teenick channel for the other two seasons, despite it not being a Nickelodeon original. This video was mainly dedicated to the Teenick segment on the original Nick before it got its own channel. But I can see why these shows confused others for this video
Also i immediately remembered the Caitlin's Way theme song tho...didnt like the show much...but the theme song just stuck in my mind from just seeing you mention it. And omfg...i loved Cousin Skeeter omg
I have NEVER been able to get certain Naked Brothers Band songs out of my head. I'm 28 and they'll still pop up every now and then and I haven't watched the show since I was a kid!
Alex Mack was one of my favourite shows as a kid! There was an episode where they were fencing that stuck with me long enough for me to take it up as a teenager and spend 8 years fencing.
I fell in love with that podcast because of their dynamic and personalities (especially Devon 😍) but I’ve honestly only ever seen a few episodes of Ned’s lol. Maybe I should give it a try now.
@aaronnantz2289 There were plans for a sequel series focusing on the adventures of Ned, Cookie and Moze in high school that would have been understandably titled "Ned's Declassified High School Survival Guide" but due to budget issues and the fact that the original show was created by Scott Fellows instead of Dirty Dan; the show never came to fruition.
I was not very close to my sisters, but we had a ritual to get together and watch H2O. It was a little cheesy and the mermaid powers didn’t always make sense, but it was very loved by people in its target demographic
Amanda canceled her podcast after one episode because she couldn't get the people she wanted on. Other than that, I saw XJ9 from My Life as a Teenage Robot. Such an awesome show. It can come back and perhaps a reboot with a more serious take on the story.
Well, THIS is a trip down memory lane! I was born in '93, so I was at the PERFECT age for Snick and then Teennick. Seeing a retrospective on this stuff really hits me in the nostalgia in a way not a lot of stuff does. Great vid dude
This vid was very nostalgic. I grew up in the 2000s, and remember Teenick as a standalone channel. I did not know or remember watching the Teenick or Snick programming block. Out of all the shows mentioned, Drake & Josh and iCarly were staple shows growing up. Drake & Josh still holds up over two decades later. I will always love the Drake & Josh, and never really cared much about Drake Bell and Josh Peck as actors. Lastly, I watched Just Jordan. And one thing the show deserves credit for, is by having three unique leads. Lil JJ as the star and him having a latino and asian as his best buds. Which I think you did not see much of back then in Children's Television.
Did "Be Kind, Rewind" rip-off "The Amanda Show"? Jack Black film with same premise: guys make cheesy at-home parodies of rental VHS movies after they all get erased (magnets) and pass them off as "foriegn renditions."
Ayo The Secret World of Alex Mack was fire. She had to hide her powers from her parents and townsfolk. The only people who knew she had powers were her older sister Annie and best friend Ray. She could shoot electricity from her fingertips, telekinesis, and could turn into a puddle.
If I'm not mistaken, I thought she had a couple of friends who knew, and her sister didn't find out until like the last season, then came the TV movie when they finally found out about her, the bad guys and her parents, and it was revealed her parents did have an antidote, and the last scene kept it vague on whether she took it or not, and as a side note, they parodied Alex Mack on All That, instead of powers, she finds a saxophone and decides to start playing it, really badly, they called it Alex Sax
I have to follow this dude it feels like a cousin that I never got to meet but we lived the whole life together and the way the nostalgia is going man I miss being a kid thank you
OMG YES! At least you remember 100 Deeds for Eddie McDowd! To this day I always say peoples dogs are just people cursed to do good deeds and no one gets the reference.
What’s weird is that I remember a lot of shows starting with Drake and Josh in that wacky Dan sphere airing a lot more on Nick than Teen Nick, but shows like Ned’s Declassified, Naked Brothers Band, and True Jackson VP airing more on Teen Nick. Which is weird, cause at the time of ICarly, I couldn’t seen them being Nick originals instead of Teen Nick originals. However, at the same time that’s what gave Nick a bit of an edge over Disney Channel in terms of sitcoms and drama esc shows, even though Disney was way more popular.
@aaron_aj_knight_95 True Jackson had 3 seasons but it rarely aired on the network. Nick let Schneider's shows & SpongeBob dominate the network by that time period.
Ned’s Declassified had 4 - 12 year old me in a chokehold. I religiously watched any new episode / rerun. I even put it on as background noise while doing something else when all 3 seasons were on Netflix. I have pretty bad memory but I can recall any episode of that show.
I can tell you're young because the excitement for the meh Drake and Josh but not really familiar with the iconic Taina, Alex Mack, etc. Especially because Victorious is a copy of Taina and Taina did not get the justice and treatment that was deserved because it was an "urban" show. Plus the disrespect to Are You Afraid Of The Dark. You know you could watch both AYAOTD and Goosebumps, right?🥴
Another reason why "Taina" was screwed by Nickelodeon is that the network thought this show didn't reach its target demographic of uptight prim and proper suburban white boys.
@MichaelLovely-mr6oh Actually, the main reason why the show was screwed was because of behind the scenes issues. Vidal & her management team clashed with Nick execs regarding the child labor laws & her record deal. The execs tried to abuse the child labor laws with Christina Vidal & they didn't like her signing with another company, so they canceled her show.
TeenNick didn't exist here in the UK, we had 3 channels airing at the same time. Nick Jr (under 6), Nick Toons (cartoons only), and Nickelodeon (mostly live action)
Every time I scroll through my TV guide I think "Would it kill Teen Nick to air shows other than just airing "Henry Danger" 24/7?" What many people may not know about "Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide" is that the exterior shots and outdoor scenes were shot at La Mesa Junior High School in Santa Clarita, California. Even more surprising is that there were plans to do a sequel series focusing on the characters (Ned, Cookie, and Moze) in high school that would have been titled "Ned's Declassified High School Survival Guide." Unfortunately, it didn't happen due to budget issues and the fact that "SpongeBob SquarePants" as well as the sitcoms created by Dirty Dan were the cash cows for Nickelodeon.
I can't believe you dragged H2o like that. This was my show growing up😂. I watch it every summer lol. My sister and I got the lockets they wore in the show too, it's in my closet somewhere 💀💀. The amount of times we went outside during a full moon thinking something magical was gonna take place. YT was full of fan series and "real mermaid spells", what a time to be alive 💛😭😭
@@skinni_the_P00hBear Awesome! My personal favorite character on "H2O" is Rikki because she was straightforward and feisty in addition to being the total opposite of Cleo (who was extremely sweet and naïve) and Emma (who was an overly neurotic perfectionist.)
I don’t mean to sound rude but have you ever heard of the term “mockumentary”? Because that’s what the Naked Brothers band is. It’s not a sitcom but a tv show set up as documentary with events that are still made up but it’s presented as real. That’s why the Naked Brother’s band comes across as more authentic and “real” because for mockumentaries there’s not a complete script. Some of the scenes are the boy’s real reaction to the situations Nickelodeon set up for them. That’s how mockumentaries are typically filmed, adding in real scenes to get a more raw outcome.
@@MermaidGal90 Cool! Its available on youtube now but I own an original VHS for the nostalgia! Have you seen "The Thirteenth Year"? I remember seeing that advertised on Disney channel and I couldn't wait for it to come out! I kept bugging my parents about it, I didnt understand tv movies vs real movies back then. Do you have any recommendations obscure mermaid movies?
Nick Cannon starred in a few seasons of All That in the mid through late 90's. He became a fan favorite, most likely due to his name, and Nickelodeon pretty tried to capitalize off of that any chance they got.
I think mentioning how Drake Bell is now active in Mexico, with a new name, was kind of a backhanded way of saying it. I doubt RUclips takes any talk about grooming very kindly... Either that, or he tried to keep it cohesive. But I agree that he could have discussed it briefly like he did for Jennette McCurdy
From 1991 to 1994 to be precise. This show helped Melissa Joan Hart launch her career and without "Clarissa Explains it all" we wouldn't have "Sabrina the Teenage Witch."

@@rcmero we had satellite then cable, but I do remember various Nick/Fox Kids/CN/Disney shows reruns on the kids morning blocks on our freeview channels like CBBC, CITV, Channel 5 "milkshake"
Could be the same wherever you are from
Yeah, I think it was a local channel, I think it was before there was one specifically aimed at teens. Must be why I didn't know this was a Nickelodeon production.
I watched ICarly, Drake and Josh, and Victorious a lot as a little kid, but only because it's what my older cousins watched when they visited.
I felt so mature watching shows that weren't animated.
get ready for "jake and drosh"
Pretty funny
Those Proactiv commercials that aired during every commercial break are permanently engraved into my head.
Hopefully it comes back but we'll see
I know this is from your prospective but it’s hilarious how all the “white shows” get whole play by play commentary and the minority shows are like, “yeah it aired, aaannndd alright moving on”
AMAANDDAAA SHOOWWWW!!!!!! YEEESSS
To be fair, he kind've gave "Romeo!" and "True Jackson V.P" their props but I hear what you're saying.
Yeah, that doesn't seem surprising.
He also hates all the shows that appealed to girls and calls them boring drama.
He did give "Kenan & Kel", "All That", "Cousin Skeeter" & "Romeo" decent time though.
Victorious may be well known Series ever aired on Nickelodeon. we'll never forget about Victoria Justice in all of our Hearts of Memories
i dunno, i feel like icarly's way better known than victorious
I really liked the Brothers Garcia, it's a shame it has been forgotten. Rewatching it here on YT and I think for me the show holds up really well as it's not over the top and has lessons every end of an episode. Also I would say that the show has heart.
I started rewatching as I read that it was actually revived around 2022 or 2023 but was eventually cancelled. While I loved the original run when I was young I get why the revival did not do well as I said I feel like this is one of those forgotten nick shows.
"Todo para la familia"-everything for the family❤️
Did you know that the creator of “Clarissa Explains It All” also made “Bear in the Big Blue House”?
I heard about that.
Nick cannon is pretty popular for having a music career in the past that is joked about a lot on his current popular show Wild N Out on VH1 I think and he was also in a lot of popular movies like Drumline, Love Don’t Cost A Thing, Roll Bounce, etc
He also is famous for having lots of babies. 😂
Moody's Point was actually going to be another Show, and was on Amanda Show to see how audiences reacted, and wasnt going to end in a cliffhanger. But Amanda Show ended, and decided not to do the show (Sorry for so many comments, making these comments as i'm watching this video for the first time)
As a result, we got Zoey 101 and the weird small bit of Cat's personality in the first season of Victorious.
The All That revival had over 35 episodes not 8, also it was canceled due to what was happening around 2020.
I mean even if the pandemic didn't happen, that show wasn't gonna survive. Shit was ass lmao
I actually enjoyed it while it was airing and then there were never any new episodes (it even got me wondering about the original all that where I would watch clips on RUclips and try to catch reruns on teennick lol)
Yeeeeaa I couldn’t get in the ALL THAT reboot either 😵
Damn
Dude, no one ever talks about "Shelby Woo." I had a love-hate with that show. One, it was nice to see a show starring an Asian lead aimed at mystery solving for an older audience, similar to "GhostWriter...," but on the other hand... it was so hard to get through at times, lol.
But also, "Snick" is the legacy, "TeenNick" was the follow-up that gained its own channel that was headed by Nick Cannon for a while. It merged with "Noggin" and was most known for airing a bunch of shows like "Degrassi" aimed specifically at teenagers.
I never heard of it and I watched a lot of nick it looks interesting
Interesting
I got major Ghostwriter vibes back when it first aired.
Oh, and as far as who Nick Cannon is, he was the host of an improv comedy show on MTV called "Wild n' Out" in the '00s, which was like a hip-hop "Who's Line is It Anyway?"
Okay, so there used to be a channel called "MTV" which stood for "Music television," and they would play music videos, just like the kind you see here on RUclips, but, like on TV.
‘Victorious’ was just a great value version of ‘Taina ‘ ..’Taina ‘ deserve more seasons fr
Kenan and Kel is the original Drake and Josh
i was with you til h2o, i LOVED that show and have rewatched as a teen and adult multiple times and still love it, i know a ton of people who still have nostalgia for it :/ its at least on the level of the other better teennick shows
I enjoyed watching "H2O: Just Add Water" when it was on Nickelodeon and when I briefly had Netflix.
Nick cannon used to be a side character in alot of 90s nick shows then he became a full time actor in movies and since the 2000s he is the host of wild n out💀
"who is Nick Cannon??" So you've never watched mtv interesting...
The Secret Life of Alex Mack and Clarissa Explains It All were my favorite shows as a kid!!
As much as I like MLAATR, I don’t like how it was overshadowed by a rockslide.
the trash talk about h2O upset me very deeply. i was the girl who loved it growing up, in fact i just rewatched the whole thing last month. 🙁
He trashed h20 but loved mr meaty that says everything
Why is my dude getting on nick cannon like that lol
There's 2 sides to my memories of teen nick 1 is degrassi marathons and proactive acme commercials
Same!😂😂😂
They have a Degrassi channel
It's a shame that Alex Mack is so hard to find. It was one of my favorites. Most of the drama of the show revolved around the fact that a CIA-like government agency was always after Alex, because they knew she got covered in the chemical, had some kind of powers because of it, and were stalking her.
What about Degrassi:TNG? Where does that fall in the category? Is was on technically Teenick channel, but it was renamed to The N
Yes it was along with south of nowhere and the best years
Degrassi was not made by nick or on teen nick until much later. It was airing on CTV in Canada and airing on also in the USA under The N umbrella… which stands for Noggin. Also, a separate channel from Nick.
@@MrJayfreeable he covered H2O tho
@@pleaseshutup7053 he covered H20 becasue it was apart of teennick block on Nickelodeon. Where Degrassi was only on TeenNick when it became its own channel.
@@pleaseshutup7053 the difference was that the first season of H2O was aired on the regular Nickelodeon channel before being moved to the Teenick channel for the other two seasons, despite it not being a Nickelodeon original. Degrassi was aired on Noggin, that turned to the Teenick channel, and had its forever home there.
ITS THE DAD FROM CORY IN THE HOUSE???!!! 😂😂😂 I’ve never heard someone reference him from that show instead of That’s so Raven
He blew me with that fr 😭😭
Ned's Declassified is so freaking good. I listen to their podcast now too. Cookie is cute af now too😍😍 but its so cool that they're friends
I fell in love with that podcast because of their dynamic and personalities (especially Devon 😍) but I’ve honestly only ever seen a few episodes of Ned’s lol. Maybe I should give it a try now.
I loooove the pod. Been watching since they started doing it and it's so pure and genuine... and wacky! They have such great chemistry.
Yea I hear ya I love that show it sucks they couldn't get a revival show still
Lindsey Shaw is still so gorgeous.
"I never heard of The Secret World of Alex Mack."
WHAT!? This show was damn amazing. And the ending was great.
If you miss the 90's shows, watch "A better schedule for Nickelodeon's main block" by Evan Rosman.
Amanda canceled her podcast after one episode because she couldn't get the people she wanted on. Other than that, I saw XJ9 from My Life as a Teenage Robot. Such an awesome show. It can come back and perhaps a reboot with a more serious take on the story.
Lol that woman is wild
@@pleaseshutup7053Dan is wild
The Nick cannon hate was crazy in this one , mans a legend
Well, THIS is a trip down memory lane! I was born in '93, so I was at the PERFECT age for Snick and then Teennick. Seeing a retrospective on this stuff really hits me in the nostalgia in a way not a lot of stuff does. Great vid dude
Lil JJ from Just Jordan won Teen Comic View on BET.
Brothers Garcia: Those are Greek subs, not Russian. Not sure if that was a joke or not.
remember staying up as a kid and watching reruns of full house
Secret World of Alex Mack fun fact! One of the side characters is played by a then-unknown Jessica Alba
I am so glad I am not the only one who:
• Remembers Eddie McDowd
• Thought Nick Cannon owned Nickelodeon
• Did not understand Moody's Point
Just wait until you see the new Quite On Set documentary...
“Middle school is the hardest time of most peoples life” yeah if you never do anything with your life 😂
I feel so old watching this cause most of these shows were my favorite to watch when in middle and school. HELP
I have to follow this dude it feels like a cousin that I never got to meet but we lived the whole life together and the way the nostalgia is going man I miss being a kid thank you
22:25 That is the Greek alphabet, good sir! 🧐
Otherwise, great nostalgia trip.
Yeah lol I took a quick look at my screen and was trying to figure out why I can read and understand Russian 😂
30:54 you might have to go in a deep dive of bow wow and Romeo beef and how Romeo tried to take bow wow style
God, I had such a crush on Shelby Woo as a child!
NO MATTER WHO I talk to about Shelby Woo and Alex Mack I am still the ONLY person I have met who actually watched those shows when they were airing.
The Dan Schneider shows lasted longer. Drake and Josh had like four seasons while a show like True Jackson VP had only two.
@aaron_aj_knight_95 True Jackson had 3 seasons but it rarely aired on the network. Nick let Schneider's shows & SpongeBob dominate the network by that time period.
@@GameLover-pz5zcFacts
snick stood for saturday night nickelodeon. and so i guess they just wanted to make it a sunday night thing too. and that’s why they made teen nick.
Interesting
To be fair if they woulda called it Sunday night Nickelodeon it still woulda worked
"Tales of the Dead Man's Float" from "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" is iconic. Give it a watch!
The naked brothers band was my favorite show ever I even had on dvd in my childhood
We need an all that reboot with all of nick cannons kids
Ned’s Declassified had 4 - 12 year old me in a chokehold. I religiously watched any new episode / rerun. I even put it on as background noise while doing something else when all 3 seasons were on Netflix. I have pretty bad memory but I can recall any episode of that show.
You ain't lying 😂💯
@@MichaelLovely-mr6oh...the 90s was lousy with suburban white boys trying to be 'urban', fam, what do you mean?
The fact you used the harvest festival song from harvest moon 64. Made my day, brought happy tears to my eyes.
To think I JUST learned that this became a separate channel this morning only for this to pop up later…kinda freaky timing .-.
TeenNick didn't exist here in the UK, we had 3 channels airing at the same time. Nick Jr (under 6), Nick Toons (cartoons only), and Nickelodeon (mostly live action)
I say had, could still be 3 separate channels, dunno, I haven't watched cable in 10 years 😂
TeenNick is now the Henry Danger channel.
True
I'm certain that if you set aside a day to clean out your closet you'll find the lockets.
@@MichaelLovely-mr6oh update: I found them 😅
@@skinni_the_P00hBear Awesome! My personal favorite character on "H2O" is Rikki because she was straightforward and feisty in addition to being the total opposite of Cleo (who was extremely sweet and naïve) and Emma (who was an overly neurotic perfectionist.)

Was that baby Brenda song in Eddie Mcdowd??! AWWW

Shoutout to teen nick for introducing me to Degrassi
Nick Cannon starred in a few seasons of All That in the mid through late 90's. He became a fan favorite, most likely due to his name, and Nickelodeon pretty tried to capitalize off of that any chance they got.
You forgot to mention how drake bell is a creep and really doesn’t have a career anyonore because of it
I think mentioning how Drake Bell is now active in Mexico, with a new name, was kind of a backhanded way of saying it. I doubt RUclips takes any talk about grooming very kindly...
Either that, or he tried to keep it cohesive. But I agree that he could have discussed it briefly like he did for Jennette McCurdy
He's on a comeback after the Quiet on Set documentary
The Ned's Declassified cast reunited again at Nostalgia con in May 2024 & did a podcast on surviving conventions
You not knowing who Nick Cannon is is genuinely painful 😭 people shit on him all the time for having a fuckton of kids
The Brothers Garcia actually had a sequel revival on Paramount plus but it was only 1 season.
Clarissa Explains It All originally aired in 1991
From 1991 to 1994 to be precise. This show helped Melissa Joan Hart launch her career and without "Clarissa Explains it all" we wouldn't have "Sabrina the Teenage Witch."
