I dd a painting of the front cover of Glass Houses in 1980 when I was 16yrs old....the painting I did right on the wall in my parents basement home in Astoria, Queens , New York.
side 1 of Class Houses is one of the best sides on any album anywhere!!!! I've been a fanatical Billy Joel fan for 35 years. And my favourite Billy Joel song comes from this album, the brilliant brilliant fantastic, ALL FOR LEYNA!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was the side that got me into Billy. It was the first I heard, so obviously I'm biased but I'm watching these videos and this was literally the one comment I'd love to tell him. I'm glad its the very first comment!

According to my parents, In May of 1980 when I was driven home from the hospital It’s Still Rock And Roll To Me was playing on the radio in the car and was the first song I ever heard.

I LOVE stories about what the ideas were surrounding a classic album, interestingly I was enjoying side one of GH the other day and thinking, dude, Joel was on fire with his band back then, nonstop rockin' jams!

THROUGH THE LONG NIGHT - really stands out as great songwriting, brilliantly arranged and recorded - this one really stands out for me - sure i love the hits but this hidden gem really shows Billy's genius - one of the most beautiful, heart felt recordings by anyone with a touch of melancholy.
I bought Glass Houses at 10 years old! One of my first albums! I listened to it so much that I still know most of the words to this day! Still one of my favourite albums! The “B” side is amazing!
