Today I decided to try another spot I had never been to. I spotted an area on Google Earth in the back part of Nueces Bay and took a chance. I was met with dead calm conditions and an incoming tide. I found some tailing redfish and a new marshy area to fish. Jellyfish were thick as were the stingrays. I managed to catch several redfish, all sightcasted. The wind picked up quite a bit on the way back and it was a slow pedal to the dock. I rescued a very waterlogged egret and took it to the Sealife Center on the island.

Very nice 👍
Thanks for watching. Much appreciated!
Great video Russell. Gotta love getting up shallow !
Thank you! It's my absolute favorite type of fishing for sure. I appreciate the feedback.
Great Vid bro. Watching these always takes me to my Zin place
Thanks Kevin! Looking forward to October brother. Looks like y'all had a great time in the mother land!
We did. It was a blast! Yes... looking forward to Oct as well. Just booked VRBO and will shoot you details. @@YakmonOutdoors
I find it very cool to watch you fish!! Thank you for taking us along.
Thanks for watching. Caribbean is in our future! It'll be a change of pace and scenery on the next video. 😁😁
Awesome skinny water adventure! That last fish was really cool. Good job on the rescue too!
Thanks Curtis! I hope that bird made it. Poor guy was super tired.
I like your data dump in the description too, allowing you to keep individual trip information stored with the video like that. I have written down some daily notes in my notebook of video logs but not with regularity, better to have more information than not enough. Once you begin wanting to analyze environmental data in relation to fishing is when you realize that you wish you had been taking notes for much longer.
Indeed! I have to write down the info immediately when I get back. This old brain can't keep everything straight after awhile.
Nice!!! What time did you start your trip and what time did you finish fishing?
I started at 630 and finished fishing around noon. The trip back took some time.. Lol
AWESOME VID!! And gotta ask what kind of water shoes are those??

They work well with a hard bottom, but will pull off in mud. I keep a pair of NRS booties in my kayak in case I am in a muddy area of if I get stuck in the marsh. I like the ones in the link because they are super light and they drain well. I just bought them recently. Only one draw back ..I get burned between my shoes and pants sometimes when pedaling.
Thanks for watching. Good luck out there!
@YakmonOutdoors lol thanks for the info good luck to u as well and keep putting them up I'll keep watching!!
Dude I chased the reds in exact same conditions last 3 days and couldn't get them to bite my paddle tail ? I have alot of grass in the area I'm fishing so I have to use a weedless jig what plastic were you using ? Any suggestions?
I use the bubba clucker chicken boy. There's some additional info in the description. They are fairly small and look a lot like shrimp. I have pretty good luck with them in skinny water and marshy areas. chickenboylures.com/products/bubba-clucker-mullet-speckled-pecker-3in
Grass is tough sometimes. There's a bigger variety of chick boy you could rig weedless or even with the paddle tail. Placement is key, especially in stained water. There's a fine line between close enough and too close for sure. I really should put out a blooper reel with missed casts and spooked fish. Lol. Good luck out there!
Anyone know what kind of bird this is? The question didn't show up. Thinking Reddish Egret in white phase but IDK.
Baby egret or herring not sure
Wow that’s over 4 miles out there that’s awesome!! Do u have a motor or was that pure fin work?
No motor, just pedal. It was much easier getting there than getting back when the wind picked up.
