Wow you are doing well for only 11!
Keep up the good work, it is nice to know younger people are still interested in fibre crafts!

What's the ratio of the pulled strings to the amount of wool combed?
By the way, you do a wonderful job explaining and I absolutely loved watching these four videos, and I wholeheartedly agree, it's magic.

    Hi,
I'm pretty sure it was Bluefaced Liecester fleece I was using.
It is a fairly straight forward technique, you just follow the steps and get beautiful smooth rovings at the end - magic!
    Thanks for your interest!
    Bye for now!

It's lovely to see such skill and confidence in hand-skills.
May I ask who makes the set of combs you're using?

They were designed and made by Peter Teal, he is now retired and they are being made by Wingham Wool Work in the UK. They have them available for sale mail order from their website.
Thanks for watching, and pleased to hear you found the clips interesting!

@babylover0990 Hello, pleased to hear that you are interested! I think the easiest way to answer your question, would be to suggest you do an internet search for a small amount of clean fleece, and a beginners drop spindle. To start with to see if you like working with fibres, you could use a pair of dog brushes or a dog comb to de-tangle and open up the fibres and try spinning them using a drop spindle. Most people find a top-whorl spindle the easiest to start with.

What type of wool is this? You probably said but I missed it. This seems waaay less complex that I was imagining.

@jimbojamesIV Sorry to take so long to reply, I must have missed the message to say a comment was waiting! It will vary a great deal with the type and quality of the wool. Just as a very rough guide, I'd say somewhere between 10-30% waste on clean wool.
